Hi,

I'm traveling around southeast Asia and was just curious about the poker scene in Cambodia.

I heard there is naga world (only two tables and 1/2 games) and river king poker club.

Where is river king club located? I read they moved to a different place away from the Russian embassy. Are games legit and good action? What games do they run + buy ins?

I wanna play in a safe environment since I'm in a foreign country.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I live in Thailand and I go to Cambodia a lot for poker, and I will always play at the Riverking poker room. Naga World poker room is just way to slow for me, unlike the Riverking were the game moves very fast ad the dealers know what they are doing. And the best action in town and safe place, I always stay at the hotel there...and the free food and drinks are good.

Ask poker_triad (look at the thread in the travel forum, lots of info there), but the hotel is just like 20 bucks, and they have a poker rate also where it's even less. The nightlife is pretty good, if you don't mind that many bars / clubs and even regular bars feature many "ladies of the night", and you will get approached often. USD, don't think so, but could be wrong. I've been flying with that kind of money often, don't see what's wrong there. At least in PP you can pay everywhere with USD though, but will usually get change in riel or sometimes mixed us/riel

I'm thinking about going to Cambodia on holiday in Q1 next year, and was wondering if there were any casinos that host games smaller than 200nl? something more along the lines of 50nl?

Not in PP. All casinos and card rooms start at 1/3NL now. I mean there's the redfox game, which is 0.25/50, but thats a late night bar game, dealers choice, 20$ fixed buyin where they usually play 7card NLO or other nonsense, nobody ever folds, everyone is drunk/stoned and acts accordingly, they play on a bar table, and the chips are like the cheapest home game chips and look like they spent the last couple of years in the Tonle Sap river.

In Sihanoukville they have a 1/1$ game at Oriental Pearl and maybe other places but in that town it will be more expensive to stay, so you might consider that if you are short on cash. Also the city is like a Chinese outpost at present.

For nanostakes live cash you could consider Manila. There you can play 25/50 pesos (like 0.50/1) in every casino or even 20/40 in at least one place (allin poker) with the locals. Regardless of the place/country, dont expect to make any money at these stakes, the rake will be too high everywhere to be beatable in the long run, even though the players will be terrible.

@FWWM, thanks for the reply. I might just have a got at the machine games/slots instead in that case. do you know what the min bet would be on these, or blackjack tables? I dont really mind losing some money, but would like the money i do bet to go a long way

What do you mean by Sihanoukville is like a "chinese outpost at present"? Is it safe? I saw a very old thread here in 2p2 from back in 2011 with lots of mentions about how dangerous it was there whilst researching the holiday.

I don't play slots or blackjack, no idea, sorry. Normally the minbets should be tourist-friendly though, there are certainly some penny slots or something. If you look on the interwebs/social media you can probably also find infos about that.

Sihanoukville is safe, relatively, for a 3W place, off-strip Vegas is worse. Just don't do anything you wouldn't do at home. Chinese outpost as in a ton of Chinese tourists, and food/entertainment options shifting more and more towards catering them recently, just as a warning/notice, doesn't need to be a problem, just something to consider, especially if you intend to stay longer.

Even 10/20 is spread as a matter of fact.
