What Calgary casino(s) have the most consistent 1/2nl and 2/5nl action? Are all casinos 24/7?

The casinos are not but the poker rooms are and have their own entrance during those hours.

Is Calgary doable without a car? I'd like to rent a place on AirBNB for a month to sample the PLO games, but it looks like Grey Eagle and Deerfoot are the best options, but also pretty far from the centre.

If you're talking about public transportation, I wouldn't recommend it at all for getting to and from downtown to either Grey Eagle or Deerfoot. You could cab or uber, but probably not worth it giving the games you'd be playing.

I've been thinking about a 2 week roadtrip through calgary and edmonton but now im getting worried that there wont be enough games available or that they wont be good. Are there always 2/5+ games running in both cities?

Thanks for the quick response.

My conundrum is basically that I'd like to stay in Calgary for a month, but I'd have to choose to be either close to the casinos, but in crappy areas far from restaurants/groceries/nightlife or live in the center, but then be an hour+ away from the casinos with public transport.

I guess it it not like Montreal where an AirBNB can be found for $800/month and then you have great public transportation. If the PLO games are soft and run almost daily, it might be worth it for me to rent a car or use Uber.

Sorry for being lazy and not searching.
Is there somewhere close for some PLO tonight after the game?

As far as I'm aware there's a 2/5 PLO game pretty much everyday at Eagle.

I have been out of work for awhile and am thinking about playing some 1/2 to keep the bank account from falling and would like to know what casino would be best. I have been told that Grey Eagle is better than Cowboys, but I would think Cowboys would be better on the weekend, with all the drunks stumbling out of the club and feeling good. Just curious what the most +EV times to play would be.

I'll probably play the Deepstacks donkaments and in other big series they have in Calgary, but hopefully I'll have work before that.

Bankroll isn't an issue as I'm not one of those oil patch guys that sends his paycheck up his nose.

Pretty sure I know the answers to these questions, but would love some input.

Are games in Calgary softer than Vancouver? I've been playing at Edgewater and these are the toughest 1/2 games I've ever played

Never played in Vancouver but I do remember Jaime Staples mentioning he took a trip to play in Vancouver and the games were incredibly nitty compared to the games he was used to here in Calgary.

I've never played in Vancouver either but I've never sat in a tough game in Calgary, there's always at least 6 horrible players

Might head down to Deerfoot for that series in a couple weeks. Anyone know what the cash games are like there? I've heard it's more reg infested, but the few that I've talked to that have played there are pretty terrible 40/6 types.

So Elbow River only spreads limit?

They try other games once in awhile, but everyone goes there for limit. I haven't been there in a long time so I don't really know for sure.

There's 1/2, 2/5 across the street at Cowboys

Yeah I would never play at elbow. It's usually all limit and all Chinese guys speaking Chinese, English only never ever enforced. Just go to cowboys, they usually have a 1/2 and 2/5 NL as well as 1/2 PLO. Lots of action as well

I'm wondering where the best NL and PLO games are in Alberta. Has anyone played out in Calgary or Edmonton?

Does anyone play the cash games during the work week, I got laid off from the patch and want to earn some money while I look for work. I know Cowboys and GE are great on the weekends, but are they any good M-T and what is the best time to go, I'm assuming after 6pm but would like some thoughts.

Cowboys is closer for me, but can be annoying getting downtown and Deerfoot is the furthest. Thanks for any help
