I got roped into Spanish 21 there, it went poorly... I played one of there 40 dollar tourneys a long time ago, it was quite the time, cheap drinks. But the casino itself is kinda dingy like I agree.

Do any of Calgary's casinos run Limit Omaha or even O8? Not much of a poker BR at the moment so some limit Omaha would be fun for me to play once in a while.

Moving to calgary next week, looking for the scoop on 5/5-10/20 NL and PLO action in the city. Do games bigger than 5/5 run on a daily/weekly basis? Can I find a 5/5 PLO game on a daily basis?

the games will play bigger than the blinds up there. you will be surprised at the action.

Any insight as to what the games are like during Stampede week? Thinking about heading up to catch up with a friend, and have heard that the games are juicy in general. Just wondering how the stampede effects it all?

I have heard the cash games during the stampede are amazingly good. I am thinking about driving down next weekend to play in these games. How have the stampede games been this year?

2/5 NL will run everyday during stampede but there isn't much higher for NL games.

Most of the HS action is PLO here to my knowledge, hope that helps

According to the canadian poker tour organizer, there is a massive 1k tourney in the works that will allow day 1s to be played across 20-30 casinos in Canada and then day 2-3 to all be played in Calgary with the option to directly buy in to day 2 for an increased price. They have commitment from 16 casinos so far and playnow.com is also going to be involved at some capacity. They expect it would easily eclipse 5000 runners and expect it to be televised and everything. Pretty exciting stuff for poker in Canada!

Can I get update on where to go for nl 1/2? Is thete any place softer during week days, or should I just stick to cowboys on weekend nights. Have about a month before I have to work for a living so want to take advantage with free time if possible. New to city, moving thete in two weeks.

canadian of course. your in canada. so change your money before going in the casino as they dont give a good rate. but they will change for you there,

Cowboys is still the best for those stakes? Do they really offer free breakfast and late night food like they list on their website?

deerfoot might be the best for you but check out the other ones if you have a car.

abs also called casino calgary used to be the best for late night games as the drinkers showed up there.

best to change currency at a bank.

a few casinos will change for you at a lousy rate but give you 24 hours to change it back. that can be an option.

Any Calgary players play online or do you spend your hours playing 19 hands/hour + 5 buck rake /hand?

Looking for some information about the games out here, what is run on a daily basis around the different rooms? Much 2/5+ NLHE daily? Are there games around the clock? Many tables that actively go? Quality of play?

Daily games that run 1/2 NL Cowboys - Deerfoot - Grey Eagle. All have there times and action. Best is to call before hand and ask how many tables are running etc.

2/5 NL will usually run weekends at any of the 3. Deerfoot & Cowboys usually run those games. As well PLO 5/5 runs in the city also. Sometimes a half/half PLO & NLHE 5/5 at Cowboys. Grey Eagle will run a 2/5 PLO

Quality of play is standard. Just walk around the room and spot a good table etc. Live games are always easy to beat.

Tables usually go 24 hours, just call any of the rooms ahead of time. Give a quick google search and get the poker room numbers of desired casinos.

Elbow is the Limit Poker scene. 20/40 L and 4/8 games which are useless imo but the 20/40 has great soft action.
