Anybody going to Windsor's "Summer Sizzler" tournament this weekend? I only found out about this horribly publicized event after players in another tournament donked off all their chips and mentioned that they will drive out to Windsor for the weekend. I went to the Caesars website and it's not even on the July calendar and there is no information about the rake, blinds, re-entry, etc. I phoned the poker room and the employee knew almost as little as me!

5-5 round by round, usually switching to PLO late at night has been running every Fri and Sat for the last month or so. Action is usually pretty good.

Anyone play or go to windsor lately? i play in burlington mainly but some guys told me they used to go but the games dried up. are there regular 1 2 games running there? or just on the weekends. i figure with the economy and the MGM and greektown in detroit that might not help, although the currency is worse now so might make sense to come over if people wanna deal with the border.

thanks

When I go there is usually 3-4 tables running in the evening and sometimes a 2/5nl game. Try asking in the Detroit thread in Regional Communities or even the Caesars Windsor thread in Poker venues forum

5-5 runs on Friday and Sat usually. It is either straight NLH or NLH/PLO round by round, depending on the players that are there. 1-3 NL runs everyday.

If you are in Burlington, Ontario, why not go to Fallsview Casino where all 17 tables sometimes run due to the World Poker Tour excitement, or Casino Niagara for 1/2?

You'll always find a couple games of 1/3nl and only weekends I've seen a 2/5nl game or a 1/2 PLO. As far as comps, Windsor always gives away free rooms which is great.

I'm looking at playing here in June. Does anyone have a contact to ask about a poker room rate?

Possibly staying here instead of Detroit because the room rates are cheaper.

If youve got a TR card then log into the website because you are probably already offered free rooms. As for exchanging USD there, yes they will do it for you

I had an interesting experience there the other day.

Sitting at the table I was asked to take an ear bud out while I was watching baseball on my phone by some old man at the table. I had one in the left side and was looking down at my lap since you can't have phones on the table. The dealer chimes in right away oh yah you can't have that in.

Fine. So instead of laying into the old guy for minding his business I decided to go up to the Manager and get a table change. He asks me which table I'm at I show him and say any of the other 3 half empty tables is fine, the one I was at was actually full. He says sorry you can't change tables 150$ of that money you have belongs to the table, I said no that 150 belongs to me.

He said sorry you can't move I said fine I will cash out and since the room is empty just sit at an empty stop at the other tables, he says I can't I would have to wait an hour. I said fine I just won't play then picked up my things and left, and the floor guy seemed like that was fine to him.

I spend about 2 days a month in Windsor and there is not a chance I will be staying at the casino again. Which I won't get into regarding there high prices and low quality.

tldr; Empty room, low limits Floor doesn't care if they have players or not.

It seems that everybody was being reasonable except you. Caesars Windsor has standard traditional rules so why would you play in a B&M room if you try to break so many of its rules?

Are you joking? He asked for a table change and instead of allowing it, the floor lost his business. Its worth paying the toll and playing at motor city if windsor treats their players this way

First of all, I play in lots of B&M casino's and have for over 10 years now.

Secondly, I don't know why you would use the word unreasonable. I was calm and nice about it and tipped the waitresses and the chip girls very well. I chose to leave as I believe there rules are awful and just annoy and interfere with players.

If the manager is fine with losing business over a table change that is fine with me as I can play at many other places.

My reason for this post is to warn anyone going to this casino that it is poorly run.

I will absolutely try this on my next trip, the rooms are probably cheaper and nicer also.

Huh? The guy was sitting quietly watching baseball? He said nothing back to the old guy who was trying to do the dealers job. Instead of being a jerk and starting an argument, he tried walking away from the situation. The problem is that windsor has no idea how to run a poker room. They cant even use their own bravo system properly.
