I am going down tomorrow and plan to play there but first I'll play the $230 tourney at the Borgata. Hopefully it will not have hit by the time that I get there. Does anyone know if they are accepting call-ins?

Last I read they were not. May be different now.

No call-ins. List for 2/4 was ridiculous. Only two tables and about 7 people on the list. I heard a floor person saying people were waiting over 6 hours for 2/4. 1/2 had about a 2.5 hour wait yesterday. 2/5 was about the same.

Personal preference, opportunity cost and all that good stuff, but I can't see myself ever waiting six hours for a seat at a 2/4 LHE table, or even two and a half hours to play 1/2 NLHE.

Were you playing last night? I got lucky and half the 2/5 wait list was at dinner and they opened a new table for the rest of the list. Then I proceeded tp play like a ****** and packed up around 1130pm.

Kept getting hands like AKs OOP and missing flops like crazy. Nobody was 3Betting evar at my table so I'd pop to like 25 UTG get 4 callers cuz "lol I'm can crack aces my IO's are the hughe! I call" and whiffing flops like mad. It was frustrating as ****.

/end poker content sorry

I have been to Caesars a few times the last few weeks during the BadBeat Jackpot craziness, including yesterday. I arrived at 3:00pm which is a horrible time to show up, my wait was well over 2 hours for a 1/2 NL seat with over 100 names in front of me. The seat lists start growing around 9:30am, and depending on the day/time, it can be anywheres from 20-100+ names on the 1/2 list until 12-2am when it slows down to open seating. Luckily, usually more than half the poeple who put their name on the list miss their name being called because they went to walk around and didn't get back in time or just said "screw it". Some dealers and floor people are better than others at filling their seats, and I've definitely seen several people just sliding in undetected without the floor/dealer noticing or saying anything, and there are also dealers who hook up their regulars for seats. Having said that (Curb anyone?), if you put your name on the list and see how many people are in front of you (it says how many names on the board), you can ask the floor how long the wait is currently. Unless you plan on attempting to sneak in a seat (like waiting for a last call on someone's initials and claiming it for yourself), I recommend finding a way to pass the time and keep checking back until your initials are actually visible on the screen.

Most of the dealers are worn out from not getting a day off in weeks, and working long hours each of those days, so keep that in mind if they are not the friendly, attentative dealer you are expecting. Everyone is ready for this thing to be hit, and for some reason people think that the probability goes up just because it hasn't hit in awhile (math geeks like me will appreciate this).

In general, the 1/2 games have been very tight, about 80-90% are very tight players, many regulars and familiar faces, with your occasional fish sitting down if your lucky, so don't expect to make a killing slaying 1/2 newbies because there aren't too many of them (generally speaking). Despite the list being over 100 names, I haven't seen more than two 2/4 limit tables open at once in the 4-5 times I've been in the last few weeks. The 2/5 NL list is generally shorter than 1/2, and people get knocked out faster at 2/5 even though there are significantly less 2/5 NL tables open than 1/2 tables.

Besides that, the Caesars waitresses make you feel like you are at a truck stop when compared to the eye candy at the Borgata.

Anyone who has had a different experience than my own, I'd love to hear about it...

So I don't recall there being a huge waiting area at Caesars poker room. Is there a ton of people just milling around?

How long do they give people to claim their seat when called?

there are 2 dealers at the ceasars who are gorgeous imo and i will go back just for the opportunity to see them again. one of them has 2 kids, so oh well just eye candy, the other i know nothing about and can still spit game at.

The minuscule chance of winning a big BBJP can't possibly be worth a 2 hour wait.
Why play here when you can always get an almost immediate seat at 1/2 or 2/5 at Borgata?
12-31-2009 , 11:26 PM
are they running 5/10?

Yes, I was there that night. I wasn't at one of the new tables though, so we were at different tables. Sounds like your night went pretty much like mine.

I know who you mean, and I agree. I think they both have kids. I'd say their names but I think that's frowned upon in this forum. (hint: the first initials of their first names are the same as thus forum).

Im headin back down Saturday at some point. Would like to try and get down early afternoon.

The Bad Beat Jackpot is about $450,000. It's hard to hit in NL because potential hands are forced out. The way to play it is not to raise pre-flop and let everyone in. Your hoping to have 2 sets flop. From that point it's about 990-1.

Just hopped on the list for 1/2 and 2/5. 2/5 is 27 long, but 1/2 is 77 long. There's a list for 5/10 but its an interest list so no actual table but that was 5 people or so. 2/4 limit was 80 long. Eponymous you over there now at all?

I'm on my way. Is it really crowded? If anybody sees me I'll buy you a drink. I'm wearing a black shirt and I'll be drinking :-)

Whats the bb at right now(sat night)?? I have 4 friends coming in tomorrow, I was thinking if the jackpot didn't hit, a 12+ hour day of drunk 2/4 limit at ceasers may just be the ticket. Hit the room early in the morn so all 5 of us are at the same table. should be fun. lol.

AFAIK, the previous record was last July at the Showboat when it reached around $350,000.

Yep, I played with the guy who had the winning hand he got 88K. I posted the link for that a couple of days ago.

What a terribly run poker room. Played there last night for the first time in months based on reports of "great" 2-5nl games as a result of the $465k BBJ....not impressed. Usually play at Borgata, and the games at Caesar's were not nearly as good as the average weekend Borg 2-5 game.

At around 6:30am(still fairly crowded), was playing 6 handed with a drunk fish who was enthusiastic about playing shorthanded...get told by floorperson "This is the last hand you guys. We're gonna move you all to full games." Me - "So we either go to the other games or we can't play anymore?" Floorperson - "Yes." I went to one of the full games, played my free hands, and left disgusted.

Never again will I set foot in this room unless they are handing out free money.

Yes, I was there. My phone battery was getting too low to check 2p2. I was on the same long list and finally got on 1/2 at about 4:00. Hopefully I can get back next weekend, but I'm not sure. I'm usually wearing a Purdue, Ravens, or Cubs hat.
