I'll be in Perth on 13/04 waiting for a connecting flight. Instead of bumming around at the airport, I'll probably spend my time at the casino. Can anyone tell me what hours their poker room operates and what limits are regularly played? Are the game soft? Regs easy enough to spot?

Also, I know it's a bit far in advance, but does anyone know if there will be any tournaments on this night?

Thanks in advance

Edit: Also, can someone please let me know if you can use phones and other electronics at the table?

*bump*

I heard Crown run a 1/2 game $150 max BI on Wednesdays.

Anybody played in it and have any tips? Should be going next week.

Havent played in it but yes that game is run

50-150 same rake as the 2/5

Actually played a few live sessions over the last week or so and its good to see the games are still reasonably good for live Australian standards

Might be heading into Crown today to check out the cash games. Haven't played a hand of poker for over 2 years lol, should be interesting.

Anyone play here? Are there any non-NL games spread?

Play is mostly NL 2-5 with a 50-500 buyin (they stopped running a smaller game daily but still wanted low money so thats why the minimum is so small, however, 90% of the field buys in $200+). They run small stakes NL on Wednesday, I think 1-2 with a 50-150 buyin but I could be wrong since I have never played it.

Occasionally 5-5, 5-10 and 10-20 gets up but its rare and more a function of who is in the room as opposed to anything else. They try get bigger games on Thursdays but I haven't played on Thursdays for a while since I got a bit ****ty about being locked out of the game once, which is a long story.

PLO gets up sometimes but its a similar story. Usually 2-3 PLO but also runs up to 5-10 depending on who is in the game.

Any limit games at all? HORSE?

Limit hasn't run for about four years, a combination of death and myself raising to much and no one wanting to play me short handed meant the end of LHE in Perth and in Australia in general I think.

You think we could get a short handed LHE game going one of these weekends if I showed up and asked for it?

The news for Crown Resorts in Australia continues to get worse:

"The WA government has announced a royal commission will examine Crown's suitability to run its casino at Burswood."

The poker room is open again, after the recent lockdown. 3-4 tables during weekdays, 6-8 during weekends. All of them 2/5.

The funny thing is that the tables are 5-handed!
Most of of the time, one or two player are out of the table and the hands played from 3-4 players.

However, the terrible 10% rake ($1 min , even for a $7 blinds pot) is still up and running.

I do not think that I will go back there anytime soon...

Tournaments are returning (slowly) to Crowm Melbourne next week. I’m guessing they will gradually add more weekly tournaments to the schedule, and might have their first post-covid series next year, say in Autumn or Spring. Perhaps the Aussie Millions might return in January 2025.

Maybe donkaments will return to Perth too?
