Hi,

I am a regular Burswood player for the past couple years - 5/5 NLHE and 10/20 LHE. I have been in Vegas for the past month for the WOSP and just got home today. Any more Burswood players here?

Matt

G'Day Matt

I just got back from Vegas and was there for the past month also. I stayed at the Mirage.

You don't happen to be the young bloke that finished 11th or something in this years Aussie Millions are you?

Nah your thinking of Mathew Kirk

Ahh yeah that's him. Got confused because I played with Kirk before I left for Vegas and he was telling me he would be in Vegas for the World Series.

is 5/5 the lowest game at burswood? i'm thinking of heading out to perth soon. i've been playing 2/3 at crown for the past month to cover my travelling expenses

There is a 2/3 game, $100 flat buy in. The rake sucks but quality of play is usually hilarious.

They do 2/3 at burswood aswell but it is terrible, the buyin is capped at $100 unlike the $200 they have at crown

Your really better off playing 5/5 or even 5/10 limit, both of which are ALWAYS running, whereas 2/3 is only in the evenings from 8pm onwards unless there is heaps of interest earlier in the day

Definitely better of playing 5/5. The $100 buyin on the 2/3 make it more of a crapshoot.

what's the rake like on 5/10 limit? is the quality of play horrendous enough to profit?

It's a 10/20 limit game, not sure of the exact rake sorry. The quality is absolutely horrendous in the limit game, everyone is pretty much unbluffable.

Yeah it's bad, a lot of $$ to be made, I used to play it a bit while waiting for my 5/5 seat.
Just remember that they wont fold any ****ty draw. ever. EVER!.

They won't fold any no-draw hand ever. ie; the flop is A92r, they hold K6o, you bet the flop and they will call.

ngaskin, you weren't playing on Friday during the day were you? I was playing 5/5 and there was a dude who had moved to Melbourne recently.

The 2/3NL is raked 10%, $8 cap. Everything else is unraked to $50, then $5 for every $100 up to a cap of $20 when the pot is $350+.

Limit is terrible, a lot of players just won't fold anything. Which is great, so long as you can stand to spend months on end without winning a pot from 80-20 ahead at the turn.

Anyone playing their tournaments at all? I managed to cash in the Sapphire after winning a ticket in a $60 sat, and I'm going to try my hand at a couple of the Deep Stack Series.

I'm thinking about playing the $85 deep stack tournament tonight. I can't get down there until about 5pm though, do you know if I will still be able to register or will it be full?

They said registrations close either 30 or 60 minutes prior to the tournament starting. I don't know if they've been filling up or not. You can call poker on 9362 7777, they might be able to tell you how many are registered so far.

My favourite Auntie hand (don't we all have one?) goes like this: paint flop, I have top two and another guy has a nut flush draw. He bets, I raise, Auntie calls two cold, he calls. Turn's an 8, river's an 8 (not making the flush), and Auntie tables 86o for trips.

Speaking of which, is Auntie still around? It's been a while since I've seen her.

Upper-middle-aged Asian lady, tends to clutch a purse above the table while she's playing. Famous calling station (which is why everyone has an Auntie BB story) at limit. I could count the number of times I've seen her fold pre-flop on the fingers of one head.
