Only one game in town and it's 10 percent rake capped at £6 at the gala.

Anyone want to start a cash game in another casino on a thurs night?

I have found one which will be rake free for a month then £5 per hour per player after the game is established.

£1/2 round of each is gonna be the game.

We have to get some competition in Bristol to gala or they will rake all the money away.

Only just saw this. Good luck with your endeavour but I really don't think the player pool exists to support two £1/£2 ROE games in Bristol. I'm also not sure why you're worried about the rake when the players of the ROE game are so incredibly bad.

Bristol is pretty bad for venues, the Gala casino on the harborside is the only decent one and has .50/.50 and .50/1 on weekends or if particularly busy and 1/2 omaha runs on Tuesdays I think.
Thats pretty much it and 'decent' is used lightly

What stakes are you after? Cash or tournament?

Gala Harbourside discussed here:
http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/27...k-info-993949/

There are a few in Birmingham (Broadway and Genting at Star City). Also, Les Croupiers in Cardiff.

Several smaller games organised by meetup group and pub leagues.

The game is easily beatable even with 10% rake.

This might be the case (I don't really know) but it will be far more profitable with a fiver an hour charge wouldnt you think ??

+100000. All the Gala cash games are beatable for a solid hourly. Even the tournaments are profitable despite juice of 13-20%.

Yeah but so what ? Dont you wanna pay less rake ?!?!

A guy yesterday offered me $101,000 for my house, but a hundred thousand dollars is sooo much money (to me at least) I'm not gonna take the extra G !

For sure, but there are much bigger issues to take on before the rake (dealer dealt tournaments, better tournament offerings etc). And like **** are they going to actually listen to players.

I was told the juice on all the games was 5% capped at a tenner, when did they change? (if at all)

I play at a couple of Gala Casinos in London, at Russell Sq, and the Horseshoe in Queensway, the rake in both rooms is 5% capped at 10 (+1 for progessive/jackpot/freeroll etc)......perhaps you should lobby the management there to be in line with the rest of their poker operations.
Also, is there a possibly the rake would be lowered now that Grosvenor has acquired Gala Casinos? I assume its only a matter of time before they start rebranding.

Yeah but no but yeah, the op said there is another casino ready to host a game game RAKE FREE !!!!!! For a month !Wouldn't you like to play in that ? Them it's gonna be 5 an hour.

I dont get the mentality. If I was there right now I would be telling everyone bout the rake free game and playing in it !

I don't know I'm still in California, but I wish everyone was a little more enthusiastic about such a huge cut in rake, it would be awesome to come back to fiver an hour time charge gAme !

If this was posted in the San Diego forum every effer would have been in there the day it was posted.

If it was an NLHE game then the same would've happened but the player pool for £1/£2 ROE in Bristol is super super small.

Moving to Bristol next month and was wondering if there are any good cash games around. Also looking to join in any possible home games.

Does the G Casino have any decent cash games?

Nope, all cash action is at the Gala as far as I'm aware.

Here's your resource for home games. It's quite a cliquey, close-knit group but they're good people and welcoming to newcomers.

Any micro/small online players in bristol interested in meeting or talking strategy? I play 6 max cash games.

Also, if anyone's interested in sharing the cost of joining a coaching site that would be good. I'm thinking of joining Leggo or card runners but I'd only download NLHE cash game vids and someone could be making use of other training vids such as SnG/STT/MTT/PLO or whatever. Cheers

Hey,

Yeah I would be keen. Also keen to get a home cash game started somewhere. Sadly my place is too small to host as I only have 4 small rooms in the whole place.

I mainly play live at the moment but have played quite a lot of micro 10 and 25NL online. I am looking to get back into it.

Hi, I've not been able to play much online recently due to working longer hours but would be interested in meeting up for a home game. You mention you play live, is that in Bristol? What are the games like? cheers

Been a while since the last post, anyone still around? I have quite a large apartment on Park St and could host a home game if there were a few interested.

Also if anyone plays SSNL-MSNL 6max and also wants to put some serious work into their game, send me a message.
