For the guys having trouble remembering to clock out

One option is during any of your sessions, to grab a floor guy, and have him clock you out and re swipe in. Especially if you are a person that is going to chronically forget to clock in and out.

Besides that how about just putting something to remind you to clock out? Most dealers when they are seeing you rack up and leave, will usually mention remember to clock out as well

The word at the tables is that Mike Phelps is playing in the 10/25 game... Can anyone confirm?

I've been playing @ borgata for over a yr, no dealer has ever suggested clocking out.

Been playing for several years. Never had a dealer remind me to clock out. I have had reminders when I first sat down to present my card to be clocked in. It really should not be the responsibility of the dealers/floor to remind people to clock in and out. Hopefully no offense to anyone, but clocking in/out is something you learn in Live Poker 101. If you don't know, ask.

Leave your comp card out behind/between your chips. Hopefully you'll notice it when you rack up to leave and it will remind you to clock out.

I just can't relate to this recent conversation. When I am playing cards I think about playing cards. This also means clocking in and out for my comps, which relates to live poker. They have a good comp system, all they ask is that the players remember to check in and out. Seems simple enough...

Sure, but if you play once or twice a month over a year or so you're probably going to forget once or twice. It just sucks when you miss out on $20 because you forgot to clock out.

I use the keep your card with your chips tactic. It usually works.

He came into the room sometime in the am, and was spotted heading towards the high stakes area. Don't know what he was playing - somebody said he plays 5/10 NL.

Mystery table spotted: Evening of 8/4 (Tuesday) had a table in the high stakes room, against the back of the left hand wall, that was roped off. When I went over to see what was being played (everyone had stacks of green and black chips) I was politely shooed away by a floor person who refused to reveal the game or stakes.

This was around 8 or 9 pm, although the game had clearly been going on for some time.

Anybody know what this was? I thought I read $100/200 on the plaquard - but I only got a glimpse before being asked to leave the area of that table and not watch.....

Weird....

Thanks.

Lee

Lee--

Most definitely was not around 8 or 9 p.m. because I'm playing at a table in the back left of the room now--and have been since 7--and it hasn't been roped off since I sat down.

It was just a 25/50 game but they roped us off because there were a lot of railbirds that were annoying some guys who got stuck. They kept asking people how much they were up/down too which is incredibly rude. Some guy standing behind me was awestruck like I was a poker genius when I won a pot with set over set too. He was watching the game for like 3 hours straight and that was making some people nervous, I just thought it was a little sad t hat he didn't have anything better to do with his time.

edit: it was still roped off at like 10pm when I quit

Pretty sure, I was sitting there for 9 hours today. Are you maybe in the main room as opposed to the high limit area?

Stan, so how about trying to run the $7.50/$15 pink chip limit game this Friday and Saturday? Give it a try, I think it will be a hit...

Also, live update for today, please?

I played in the Borgatta poker room for the first time this past Saturday and Monday. I didn't know you had to clock out to get comp points and didn't on Saturday. I played at the same table for five hours I wonder if i will get credit for the comps. I played from around 2 pm until 2 am Monday. I won 500 dollars on Saturday and broke even on Monday after bieng down 200 initally. The Borg has a really nice poker room with a great helpfull floor.

A couple of eventfull hands included a slow roll and 500 dollar or so pot almost being shipped to the wrong player. I watched a guy in his sixtes early lose 100 dollars plus to 8 2, two pair calling with 8 pair. The following hand I get JJ and raise 10 dollars. Sixties guy raises it to 20 I call with another player. Board was 10 2 six rainbow he all ins for remaining 30 dollars and I called. Turn and river where 2 low cards. He turns over one King and says, all I have is Disss . So I turned over JJ and he turns over obv other King very proud of himself (Lol)

The next hand I get KQ heart suited and about seven people limp into the pot. Board comes 10 J A. He bets 10 dollars and gets one call. I all in and get both callers both have about 100 dollars. He says I have 2 pair and flush draw but didn't turn over cards. Turn and River come blanks and he let out a yelp of disbelief. I heard him whining to someone how I had nocked him out.

A few hands later I get seven seven pockets. Someone bet 10 dollars and 4 people see the flop. The flop came 10 7 6. Someone bet 20 one other person and I call. The turn is another 10. Player bets 30 call and I call. River was 4 check check I all in. Fold with other player with about 250 left calling. He flips over 10 q. Im waiting for pot to be shipped to me all relieved. I see player with 10 q fist pump and say I knew you didn't have anything (WTF!) I immediatley say what are you talking about thats my pot?!! I have boat you have set 10s. Dealer had turned over my cards and now turned them back over. The dealer had obviously mistakenly mucked my cards and aplogized. In retrospect I know the dealer made an honest mistake but am wondering if it is possible that player with 10 queen didn't see the sevens full boat. The set 10s showed first. He fist pumped after my cards where turned over by dealer and said he knew I didn't have anything.

It's pretty standard for Borgata to rope off that table/game. The two left most tables in the high limit room are almost always the 25/50^ game and you will in excess of 200k on the table so they do what they can. You will also see boxes covering empty stacks.

Thanks for the info - I was wondering. You're right, it is sad that someone would have nothing better to do. Also, I find it even sadder that the railbirds would interfere with the game and make a nuisance of themselves. Why can't they just let the players play?

Fortunately the cards speak but you gotta protect your cards from a wrong fold, especially when you have an under-full boat and the other guy likely has trips.

Stan
Stan, Here are the procedures for producing a pink game which are simplified into four easy steps.

Step 1: Requisitioning the pink chips is probably the hardest part of getting this going. Email the chip department ASAP.

Step 2: Make up a sign that says blinds are small $5.00 (two pink chips) and big $7.50 (three pink chips).

Step 3: Fill at least one table with pink chips only, and have at least three or four thousand pink chips in reserve.

Step 4: Let us know you did Steps 1, 2 and 3...

Also, of course...a little help from Stan...buffet for 4 hours play? $2/hr comp? you know...
