Stan, are the starting stacks(20K) for Big Stack PLO event 10 correct? I believe that during the fall open it was advertised as 20K starting, but after buying in I was told that it was a printing mistake and got less chips. I understand that mistakes happen, just want to make sure.

yea, i remember that issue...i thought it was advertised as 25k starting stack, and we received 20k. not 100% sure tho.

Had a great time Thurs/Fri playing 10-20 O/8. Was there with 3 of my friends. We all seemed to do well. Started the game at 9:00 AM in Friday and played until 3:00.

There were definitely a few very loose players that made donations.

Can't wait to go back for the O/8 PLO tourny in a few weeks.

What are the January promotions?

yes i did. He made an early morning fly-by of the poker room but seemed he was just having some fun drinking with some friends. i don;t think he was there to play when i saw him. He went to HS room for just a few minutes and walked out... he did stop for a quick minute for a few pics on his way which was cool.

I can PM you the name and number of a host there that my friend uses, but just as a heads up, they probably will not even fart in your direction unless you are playing at a black chip level or higher. To casinos like ACH or Resorts, green chip players are whales. At Borgata, they are just another customer.

Hey guys, i was just wondering if i could get some advice/help...im going to be taking my first shot at 5\10 at the end of january and was just wondering about the min and max at borgata...also does anyone know on average how much players buy in for and how the game plays..thanks

id say about half buy in for 1500-2k, maybe 15-20 pct buy in for less than 1k

The 5/10 game during the week is bad. I recommend playing it on the weekend obv.

I am an AC semi-regular but I never played at the Borgata. I know that sounds insane since it is one of the best rooms on the east coast, but I play 1/2 and I can play that pretty much anywhere. I also play tournaments but those are pretty easy to find as well. I play some Stud but no higher than 5/10; last time I checked the Borgata only had higher games and I went to the Taj Mahal.

As a 1/2 recreational player, I don't get a lot of cool perks. I play at Harrah's properties a lot because they always give me free hotel rooms on Sundays and other weekdays, up to 2 a month. How likely am I to get comped rooms at the Borgata?

If I got free rooms on Sundays and other weekdays, I would be a lot more likely to play there.

Another minor concern is the quality of play at 1/2. My assumption is that the games at the Borgata would be a little tougher on average than at other casinos where poker is less of a priority. Do any AC regs have an opinion on this theory?

I am sorry if these questions have been asked but this thread is 165465416546 pages long and searching for "free room" didn't help much.

Also, if they have any promotions for people getting their first player's card, that would also be a nice incentive to drop by.

Before they reworked their comp system for poker players it was pretty difficult to get anything out of borgata and I wouldn't come as often. But after the changes it is not too hard to get weeknight rooms comped. I play 2/5 but I've read ITT of guys getting comped after a few 1/2 sessions.

At the 1/2 level I don't think there's a meaningful difference in play amongst casinos. For sure Borgata gets a lot of casual players & people visiting from out of town that just want to try their luck at poker.
