If this is true, it is a change in policy. I first got my Diamond card in September 2009, and upgraded to a black card the same month. I renewed my Diamond card, and when October 2010 rolled around, I asked in Borgata would renew my black card, and they did. Now my Black Card is once again expired, but I havent gotten around to asking for it to be renewed.

And how long is the black card valid? Is it based on calendar year so it's better to wait until January for the upgrade?

TIA

I am Diamond @ the Caesar's properties. But I have never been able to use that to my advantage and upgrade to any other card, including a Black Card status at Borgata, at any other casino. Can someone tell me how this is done and to whom I must talk to? Do I need to speak to a host or can I just go to the card center and ask them? How is this done in order to boost my chances? Thanks in advance for letting me know to whoever responds. I would really like to use the Amphora club at the Borgata.

Go to the player club desk.

Give them your id and your diamond card and ask for a black card. The amphora lounge requires 10 comp $ a visit, they don't take cash. So you still have to play there to use it.

Stan or someone else, what is the poker room rate for the weekdays and for Friday and Saturday nights? How many hours generally do you need to qualify for it? Please let me know. Thanks.

We do not have poker rates. The rate is based on your play. I would suggest that the next time you are in AC stop by and give us some play. After that you will see better rates or even some comps mid week. You may call customer care at 609.317.1000 to check your rates. Hopefully, someone who has done exactly what I just said will post how it has worked for them.

I can comment on this... the first time I played cash at the B was this summer (well I had a bit before this, but this was the first after bravo was implemented and I started getting credit for it).

I played a couple of sessions of 1/2 and 2/5 about 8-10 hours total and immediately started seeing loads of comps after that when I checked my card online. Sun-Thus comps and high rates on the weekends, but part of that was the summer.

I put in some more hours in the summer and Sept at cash games and started seeing some Fridays open up as comps and rates as low as $129 or so for Saturdays. They seem to be quite generous with this.

Another trick I learned is that if you book a couple months in advance for something (always good rates when you book ahead) and then let's say you put in a bunch of hours at the tables after you book. You can call adn they may improve your rates on the rooms you already booked.

I can vouch for Stan. Started playing this summer, and after several hours, rates were down to $59 mid-week. About 40-50 hours in, I have comped rooms for 2 days, any day of the week (except New Years Eve at $599 ). I now play regularly.

I hope the bonus comp dollar promotions return soon. This helps pay for the expensive meals at the nice restaurants!

Vouch for Stan too. I only play a couple 2-4 hour sessions a month but I can get Sunday-Thursday any time at both resorts. Though for some reason I have very few days in November but still my usual in Dec/January. Imagine it's booked up for the open. Still trying to get those Fri/Sat rooms. I get discounts now but can't get near a comp.

Also I used my comp dollars for my room fee last stay. Instead of taking the 5 dollars they took ALL of my comps. It was only around 13 in there but still kinda sucks to get beat out of 8 hours of my lowly 1/2 play. Any way to remedy this?

i'd call up the number and they'll probably be able to see the mistake/fix it. or possibly they applied $13 comp to a larger bill and charged your card for the rest?

Only other bill I had was room service which was charged to my credit card with no comps applied far as I can tell. I'll call, just was curious if anyone had experience with something similar.

I'd be willing to bet many pennies that room service was charged to your room and what wasn't covered by $13 in comps was charged to your card.

I played at Borgata for the first time last month 2 days about 14 hours of 1/2nl total. Within a week or 2 I had free weekday rooms available online. Looking forward to coming back next week, even with my limited play I'm staying Tue-Mon for something like $500 total.
