Just got back from a day in AC. played at taj for the first time and lost.... didn't really like that place. was playing 1/2 nl and the game was very tight passive, didn't get a hand worth playing in 2 hours. Cashed out what was left of my buy in and went to the borgata.

Decent waiting list for 1/2, after 15 mins I got setup at a table with 5 players having over 500 in chips, one tight older guy with about 100 in chips then the casual 1-2 fish came and left throughout my session. Badbeat jackpot was over 200k and while playing for ~3 hours I saw a royal flush, straight flush, 2 sets of quads by the same guy. On the straight flush someone had trip Q's river came an A. Dealer looked after the hand the 4th queen was about 6 more cards in. Had a few good hands doubled up then left.

Question tho about the borgata: I know the floor person swipes your card in, how do you swipe out? does the floor take care of it or do you have to swipe somewhere?

Before you leave, find the floor and tell him to swipe you out.

Adding to this: if you fail to do this, you will lose whatever hours you recorded. DO NOT FORGET to swipe out. I made it to my car once before remembering and went back for it. Poker doesn't comp you much but I usually get a free lunch each time I go compliments of my prior session.

No such thing.

I never understand the points on the card.

I logged 20 something hours over the weekend and just checked the site and still have zero comp dollars.

For the life of me, I dont understand how it works.

The site doesn't show poker comps. Go to the desk by the tournament area and they can tell you how much you have.

Put in your Borgata card #.....and it should lead you right to it.

Are you getting your card swiped when you leave?

Last time I was talking to Customer Service they also told me to confirm with the poker room that comp dollars were being applied to black card status. Looks like some of the poker room managers get lazy when your being swiped out, and are not applying comp dollars to black card status.

Had to get this fixed twice before finally getting my black card

I've played some 5/10, it's not a great game. I wouldn't say the players are particularly good, just mostly older-tight regulars. You won't see the goofy stuff like 2/4 & 3/6. You'll also see some 10/20 players waiting for seats/moving down for a while. I think it's down to only one table a day now.

Borgata should've kept 6/12 instead IMO.

Sometimes it doesn't update the info online until the end of the month. It'll never tell you how many hours you played though, just dollar amounts by month.

Well there's such thing as a comped lunch, clearly that implication was obvious from my post. Point is, if you get swiped when you sit down and you remember to get swiped when you leave and you play a decent session, you shouldn't have to buy a meal the next time you go.

Yeah, the comps system there has been very reliable for me -- assuming I remember to swipe out. Sometimes, the comps don't show up on the website. . . there is some kinda disconnect there, but they're always available for me at the casino.

I used to actually set an alarm on my phone for 1AM. When it went off, I would pull my card out and set it behind my chips so I remember to swipe out when I leave.

i think they update your comp balance online monthly. You can call them for a current balance.

I believe if you stick your card in a slot machine, you can get an up-to-date balance. Online balance definitely lags.

Yes, just call the number on the back of the card and enter your number. This balance updates very quickly.

Anyone know what the poker room rate at borgata is currently?

$1/hour for 1/2, $2/hour for 2/5--perhaps more for higher limits. Although I've heard from others it's a flat $1/hour regardless of limit, I'm quite positive I've received $2/hour for my 2/5 play.

I think you were more referring to $79 Sun-Thu, and $125 Fri and Sat.

I dunno I never really had a problem remembering to swipe out, except for the first time I played live in Vegas when I didn't know I had to swipe out .

I played it 2nite..a 4 hour session...they only had one table running and when i got there it was 12 people deep on the wait list. It was'nt a bad game a couple of old nit's and a few loose players made the game ok. I stayed a few hands too many but still managed to book a $177.00 win session

Not a regular...yet.

I spent most of my time @ Showboat, but honestly that room has gone so far down hill I just cant bring myself to play there..their tourny's are nothing like they were and their cash game selection is redicilous it's either 1/2nl or 2/4lhe and the floor staff leaves a lot to be desired.

I just started playing Borgata and so far so good...so maybe Im a regular in the making .

Just curious - why is 6/12 better than 5/10? What's different?
