= = =

On another hand, if you remember, so I folded a set of Jacks on the turn. I would be a donk if I called a pot-sized bet from someone in middle position when there's already a straight draw on the board! ;-) Would you call as there was THAT much money in the pot, esch?
Oh, I don't know. KK/top set still ended up losing to my accompanying straight draw the 99/set hand.

But as to a set of jacks on a straight board... I push. Sometimes. Because there is THAT much money in the pot. Or maybe I think there's enough of a chance they don't have it. Or I have big flush draw to go with it.

Example:
There's small raise preflop. KJ9 w/ flush draw flop. I flop mid set w/ JJ. 2nd last to act. I bet the flop about 2/3 pot. Call, call, call. 4 to the turn.

Blank turn. 1st person goes all-in for maybe $130. I pot for maybe $450+. Another blank.

I win. KK/top set folds to my turn push. NFD misses.

Of course, doesn't always work out that way. The last time I got it in with JJ/mid-set; NFD; and JK9, some did have Q10. But even then my money went in with better-than-expected equity (due to other draw)

Maybe donk is the word for it.

Stan if I'm not mistaken the last 100K GRTD 2-ReEntry event from the WPT Borgata Poker Open Championship had a 10K starting stack.

I noticed in the Winter Open 100K GRTD 2-ReEntry it says 25K starting stack. Is this correct and does my memory serve me correct that the previous event had a 10K starting stack?

The starting stack is 25K. Last year was 10K. This one should be really big.

Stan, what is the starting stack for the event#11PLO going to be? I've played several times and it changed through the years. Any chance that we'll get more than 10K? I think USPC had 12K to start and they had longer levels(40). Also, it would more appealing for the crowd to make it a 6max.

10K Chips....40 min levels. With that and the blind structure, it looks very good.

I'd + 1,000 to the 6 max but that's more tables and dealers...which will be used for the 11am NLHE tourney that starts before this.

Any PLO cash "regs" playing this? I'll be playing this and the NLHE tourneys that surround it Sund and Tues

I might, if my boss approves my vacation days on 24th and 25th. pixelpusher and templeross have mentioned they'll be there.

If I do go, I'll make my Poker Open debut and it'll be my first general tourney since "The Event That Shall Remain Nameless" back in early May ($100+20 NLHE).

Yeah, I do expect to be playing the PLO event, though I'm not a huge fan of tournaments.

Also, I agree very much with the earlier comment calling for 6-handed.

Best thing about the PLO tourney is the 90%+ chance of PLO cash running that night....

What are you trying to say, Esch? Is winning a couple pots of me that important to you, lol?

I've played with templeross live a few times "back in the day" outside of Borgata. It so happens our paths crossed here awhile back.

I smell a 2p2 last longer bet. I'm now definite for that tourney, and I'll be staying at the B that whole week, so you're all guaranteed to have at least one fish in the cash game.
