The system reads our open tables at 2pm and displays them at 2:45.

Yeah the morning tourney had 100 more runners & finished in less time than the evening tourney.

There were 346 players and paid 36. I went out about 245th....just short of the money.

Had a nice run in 1/2 winning a buy in then did ok in the PLO game

Good times...as usual at The Borgata

And, they tried like hell to get a 3-6 O8 w/FK going several times. I actually thought it was gonna go off, but... no Stan even offered to deal the game!

This room continues to do quite well, unlike other rooms in AC. I am very happy to see that.

It was good to be back in the house yesterday. I had a great time and got to see some old friends.

Happy New Years!

3/6 O8 w/ a kill...could be a fun game.

Anyone know the new timeframe for Razz, and what limit is it going to be spread ?

i don't get why everyone is so interested in this, we can't even get the pink chip HOE going anymore, and even 10/20 OE has turned into O only. Are people really even going to play Razz when it's approved and if so, as part of what mix? How long do you guys really think it will be sustained at any sort of mid limit? Sorry if I sound skeptical and hopefully with the stud gaining a bit of momentum at the Borg, Razz being approved will get a a couple regular mid-stakes mixed games going but I have to say I have my doubts.

This came up in my conversation with Stan yesterday.

The texture of the "game" has changed considerably, since the NL boom. Most of the lower limit stakes, between 2-4/3-6 and 10-20 have been eradicated by 1-2NL. The player base, in the $200-$400 buy-in range, that frequented limit games, such as: 5-10HE, 6-12HE, Pink, etc. - have gravitated to NL.

1-2NL killed the Borgata 6-12 game. We were able to keep Pink on life-support for a while, but the base for that game either moved up to 10-20, or over to 1-2NL. The $100-$200 buy-in crowd still sits at 2-4/3-6, however. I honestly do NOT see many of them leaving that "entertainment" to play 1-2NL or higher limit games.

Will mixed games stay popular? At mid-limits (20-40 up to 40-80) - yes. They limp along now. At lower limits, it is doubtful they can survive with great regularity. Adding Razz to the rota will not really have a significant impact. But, it will be nice to have the option.

Until and if, the popularity of NL wains, I fear that limit games (other than O8) will not be sustainable between 3-6 and 10-20.

That said, Stan is doing a great job to try to find something new and different in that market space. The 3-6 O8FK offer was evidence of that.

Maybe it's worth considering a 6-12 schedule, using $2 chips. Would it be worth the effort to try and get that denomination chip approved for this purpose? Dunno.

Whoever can figure this market segment out will have huge success.

Stan can spread every game mentioned, but if you can't get 9 players.. and 3 to fill empty seats it will bust, and it's a pain to setup and take down a table.

But against Spicy? I'd put all my chips and my house in the middle on the flop w/ bottom set no redraw.

OK, maybe not always.

But last time SPR was <2 on the flop, so probably not folding mid-set+gutshot.

Against you, I play KK/top set on semi-wet boards like I have dry aces on a flush and straight board. Sure, there's that "Suprise! I have a set of kings" kick, but so much lost value.

Then again, I play a lot of crazy stuff like I have the nuts/or play all sorts of nut hands like I have nothing depending on who's in. So I'm not sure even I know what I'm doing.

I'll be down Monday night/Tuesday morning. Going to play the Tuesday tournaments. What kind of field do they usually draw? 70-ish?

I can't blame you for making that move. Suited or unsuited, I would've done the same thing, but only if the board was all rainbow and/or if the player's close to busting out. You nailed a nice flop though. Bad luck for you if I did have top set with pocket K's.

= = =

On another hand, if you remember, so I folded a set of Jacks on the turn. I would be a donk if I called a pot-sized bet from someone in middle position when there's already a straight draw on the board! ;-) Would you call as there was THAT much money in the pot, esch?
