Stan,

How many players entered in the Tuesday re-buy tourney?

And how many players entered today's $15k Guaranteed Tourney?

Thanks!

FX

I think under NJ Gaming Commission rules, checks cannot be used to purchase chips. I think that's on a sign at every cage.

I think that's personal checks - a cashier's check is pretty much like cash since it's guaranteed funds. That said, I don't think you can just lay it down on a blackjack table and play it - you may be able to deposit it into a "front money" account at the cage, but I'm not sure if there would be a waiting period or not. Best to call the casino credit office/cage and ask.

You can definitely wire money to the cage in advance - just allow time for it to clear (a few business days). The cage can provide instructions.

If it helps any, I know the main cage accepts American Express travelers' checks (the poker cage does not).

There is a risk of counterfeit cashier's checks, so I doubt that a casino would cash one on the spot.

Seems to be some debate. I think it's safest doing as Jeff suggested doing a wire transfer instead.
thx for the advice guys

Stan, the live table report was last updated at 11:30pm last night (not 2am). Is it broken, or was the update schedule changed?

We are still in the test mode. We may have to periodically change things up until we are satisfied with the final product. As of today the updates are 2:30pm, 5:30pm, 8:30pm, 11:30pm and 2:30am.

how bad has this room gotten lately...the floormen are absolutely the rudest people in the world...the dealers let the regulars run the game, the managers cant make up there minds about a ruling..i mean playing at the taj is more of a pleasure lately

More proof that Taj players are generally high school dropouts.

I've been away from Atlantic City for a while.

But, generally speaking, customer service everywhere is awful (some Borgata floor people probably try to have a stiff attitude anticipating a problem), some dealers take the easy way out by not enforcing some rules and doing what they can to keep the game running (hoping to keep the flow of tips flowing).

Quite often, the person at the top of the ladder does not see what's happening at ground level. Hopefully, there's a Quality Assurance program for everyone in the poker room and it's being used.

speaking from vast experience at the borg:
they have rude and non-rude floor. most are of the non rude variety, but a lot of them are more businesslike then 'hey how are ya!'.

there are a lot of dealers who cant control the game (or dont try to) as well as they should and it appears the regulars are controlling a lot of the time.

the rulings are erratic, thats for sure.

but none of these things fall under the "lately" category. its been like that for a long time.

@Jimk

EL O EL...."The Taj" haahaa oh man, seriously,The Taj?! talk about a place that needs to be just completely blown up never to be seen again. I think you should go talk about how much you love their dirty chips, horrendous tournaments, poor security, and awesome staff in "The Taj Poker Thread"....to even mention the two rooms in the same sentence is laughable at best, next you will tell me when you go to vegas you like to play at binions because the customer service at the Venetian is terrible?

PS @jimk and Bersicker

So everyone working in a poker room has to go out of their way to be nice to you? Smile atcha?! Say "hey fella how are ya!" I've never once had a floor be rude to me there in fact, I pointed out a random card on the floor behind my table there to a floorman and he gave me free time at my 2/5 game for that down.....OMG they didn't rub your shoulders and tell you how happy they are to see you?!....well maybe their "businesslike demeanor" or rudeness comes from dealing with pleasant and understanding people such as yourself on a daily basis...

lastly, sweet unsubstantiated generalities and comments saying "they are so rude, and so bad" while providing no back story or evidence...
