I'm coming to the Borg this weekend! I will help out getting the pink chip game going. If not, 10/20 or 1/2 for me. Can't wait! Hopefully the snow won't hold up traffic too much.

I'm just curious for the people who are against the 200BB 2/5 game. Why do you not think this is a problem for 5/10 but it is for 2/5?

I am in the camp who would like to see this game run, even if it was only a few tables with the majority staying at 100BB....I have no idea what the practicality of something like that is for Stan.

A few 5/5's with a 200-1000 buy in would be just fine IMO.

Agian, you are misreading my post sir. I didn't say the 5-10 game plays too big, just that at times I am not properly rolled for it. I know I am not the only one. I'll say it agian, I love the borgata. It's hands down the best casino on the east coast for poker. And when I have the money, I love the 5-10 game. Absolutley love it. But when I don't, I'm sort of stuck in an akward spot. I am by no means complaining about either game. Some of you seem to think that just by adding a few deep 2-5games it will kill the current make up of the poker room? I would just like to see a few run, I don't think it would hurt you guys that are so opposed to it at all, but it would provide an option for those of us that like to play deeper but can't always afford to play 5-10.

Thanks for the info, if we get there on time I'll definitely enter. I'm surprised they don't have some sort of tournament on Saturday night though only in the morning, but I guess that is when they're the busiest so don't wanna lose that rake money.

I'll prolly be there playing 5/10 NL or 2/5 all weekend if anyone is around. Skinny and have a huge beard if it helps.

so the answer is 100bb deep, yes AINEC.

as you get deep, the old guys would have an edge but by the time my guys got to 400bb deep, they'd probably be playing the best at the table and wouldn't need to get in pissing matches with the old pissed guys who've dumped X buyins already. they'd jsut play in position and let em spew
That's it...you and me, after school, in the playground. Be there or else.

Same here, planning to drive down on Saturday and play PLO. Hopefully 1/2 PLO table would go and stay going for a while.

Once BBJ hits at Caesars (499k now!) I'm sure everyone will run over to Harrahs which is also at a hefty 329k. At least it's closer to the Borgata room...

Are the 2-5nl games at Caesar's or Harrah's any good?

They can be pretty juicy mid week (not as many nitty regulars)

But with everyone chasing this BBJ, it is full of off duty Borgata regulars/dealers

So to answer your question, no...

Thanks for the reply. I like to play Borgata, but wanted to know if it was worth it to head over to the other casinos for a change.

That line reminded of a time I saw a (former?) Borgata poker dealer two years ago playing $1-2 NLHE with me at the old second-floor Showboat House of Blues poker room.

And then seeing a Showboat Korean tournament floor manager in his casual clothing playing poker at the Borgata floor one time almost one year ago.

How about a $1-2 NLHE/PLO game? They run this type of game at the Hard Rock... Ask Pokerati he runs this type of game over there... nice action

We used to get 1/2 PLO and PLH going at -ARGE events. I'd much rather see this than NL. There are already too many NL games.

PL gives the fish hope in a game where they have virtually ZERO chance of being successful. They need skills that they do not posses, not just balls & stacks.

I just want to register my preference for keeping the max buy-in at 2/5 at $500.
The 2/5 game at Borgata is fantastic...much less infested with regs than 2/5 games at smaller poker rooms.
Why you would want to do anything to potentially scare away the recreational players to suit the preferences of grinders is beyond me.

wish we could drop the 2-5 max buy-in issue already..

heading down tommorow after skipping out early from work around 2ish, hoping for some nice action. Stan, is there a place us poker players could go to watch the Jets game within the borgata? not that the plasma's 100 feet above me aren't practical or the 20 inch tv's in the room not terrific
hope to see tommorow night

also if possible a 2pm (tommorow) anticipatory game report if possible

Any prospect for getting pink chip HO started tomorrow afternoon?
I have two friends who would be interested in playing, and I would be willing to get in if that will help the game go.

we know how live players don't like the idea of starting short but making a table a clearcut "short-handed" table and / or "deep stacked", those options will appeal to a lot of internet-bred players who's earn is significantly shorted by 10-handed 100bbs games.
Jesus if I could play 6max deep at Borgata against 1/2 live players I'd be in heaven. Is there a reason why there are no short handed tables live? I never got why live players have this hatred of playing with 5-7 players.

Most live players are nits, and nits don't like having to post the blinds/play more hands than are necessary.
