Being the Director of Poker Operations at Borgata, I will not post on the other A.C Official threads. Such as Taj, Showboat, and Harrah’s out of respect to their management team and to their loyal players. I will read them as I have done in the past. The taj is not the only room having the middle limit game such as 4-8, 5-10 and 6-12. We have the same problem. I have tried all of the limits I just mentioned. We do occasionally get the game on weekdays. It could be stronger. I would love to help you guys get a game. It would help us out at the same time. Yes, NO LIMIT killed the middle limit game. We had (4) 6-12 games in the small room before N0-limit came along. Ever since, it has been a real struggle. Hopefully this summer when things pick up there will be a game every day.

Does anyone know what the structure is for the Borgata Summer Open events? There is an event list online but it doesnt give the blind levels, chip counts etc. Mostly interested in the $500+ $60 deepstack

It was going shorthanded Fri night. 5/10 PLO usually only goes during the WPT Tournies, although it will occasionally break out on a fri night.

As much as I would like to see this happen, IMO it's unrealistic. PLO isn't a big enough % of the games spread for it to be worth the effort to the Borgata. Plus, some of the dealers just don't care. It's not like it's that hard to learn how to deal the game and count the pot. Many of the dealers when they first encounter it try to understand what's going on, but some are just like "whatever". The Borg has so many dealers that even if the game went every day, some dealers might only deal PLO one down per week, similar to the 10/20 Two way (which has been going for years) and some dealers still struggle when dealing that. The dealers who came over from the Trop or Taj are usually pretty good, but the ones who started when the room moved upstairs are usually clueless.

In the dealers' defense it's actually pretty hard to learn how to do it on autopilot and while doing all of the other things that a dealer has to do.

I'm sure there isn't a single dealer there who'd prefer to deal PLO over NL - less hands per down translate into less tips, more regs at the table would translate to a lesser tip per hand on average, and on top of that you have to constantly keep track of the pot - way too much work.

sometimes it's okay if it takes a minute to figure out the pot or bet size. such as post flop, someone makes some random bet, gets a call, then someone pots it. but when someone bets pot on the flop and the next player to act repots, the dealer should know it's a 4x raise and not a 2x one. the dealer should also know what's in the pot when it first goes to the flop. X times players + folded blinds/limps isn't too hard to do in a few seconds.

In order to maintain the quality of service that Borgata should be interested in delivering, there should be an effort made to ensure that all of the PLO dealers know the game. If the rotation only has PLO dealers dealing one down a week, they need to know the game. Maybe only the dealers who know the game should deal PLO with an incentive to reward their diversified understanding.

And if some dealers just don't care, as is the case in many customer service positions, they should be warned, written up, and/or fired. Dealers represent the casinos and the casinos' reputations are critical to their success.

Can you possibly implement some harsh penalties for inconsiderate people who continue to smoke in the poker room restroom? The only thing that happens now is either a security guard will ask the offender to put out the cigarette, or I have to ask, and the response is usually, "do you work here"?, and so on with rapid progression to profanity, and in one case even physical blows.

It's really disgusting and uncomfortable to have to escape from the restroom because some obnoxious smoker enters a stall nearby. If even once a smoker received a penalty and it were publicized, people would think twice before smoking in there.
