I was going to say what an awesome turnout for the 7PM tournament, then I realized what day it is.

Still a nice turnout though.

I'm sure Harrah's poker open contributed to the smaller turnout.

Yea it's usually closer to 300 or more. I would also assume that the Harrah's tourny had a little to do with it.

Stan,

Thanks for running the best poker room in Atlantic City. I visit only the Borgata when I'm in AC. I have a few suggestions that I hope you consider:

1. Have a chip runner in the high limit section on Friday and Saturday nights. It seems that this is hit or miss on the weekends. It really slows down the game when a dealer has to change out $5000 after a person busts out of a NL game.

2. Have hand sanitizers located at several locations in the poker room. Poker players don't have the best hygeine and with the worries of the swine flu, having hand sanitzers would be great. I know they have them at Foxwoods and players do use it.

3. If you are playing a shorthand game and there is no one on the list, can a player going for dinner leave their chips at the tables without time being collected? I have seen the floor rule both ways on this situation.

Keep doing the great job you're doing and thanks for making the Borgata the premier place to play poker.

1. You are absolutely correct about the chip runners. Unfortunately I do not have much control over the scheduling of cage personnel. I will keep fighting to have chip runners in the room.

2. I just ordered eight cases of wipes. Hope to have them in very soon.

3. Touchy subject. Only because everyone would be eating! Not that players' shouldn't have the right to go to their room to watch a game or boxing match or whatever. I do give as much leeway as I can late night.

Thanks for the kind words

Stan -

One question: When there is a new game called at the borgata and all 10 players come to the table, say for 2/5 or 10/20 NL, why must we get our chips at the window?

This has always been my #1 complaint about the borgata, and AC in general. In Vegas, everyone just buys a rack from the dealer and the game is a go in 2 minutes. Is it a NJ regulation or something?

Thanks,
hobokes

I think it's because, if everyone did this, the dealer would basically have no chips left, and would have to get a fill anyway, which would still slow down the game.

It is 10x faster to get chips at the cashier. It takes more than two minutes to sell $500 x 10 players for 2/5 NL. What I don't understand is why people will wait on the list for ten minutes and not go and have chips already before the game is called.

Really good answer! It's best to buy the chips at the cage or with the chip runner when available. If you see the list is starting to grow or if you see you are close to being called for the main game, you should make an effort to buy your chips in advance.

Stan,

I know these things are very, very difficult to gauge and subject to lots of variables, but any estimates on the number of entrants in the Borgata Summer Open events 1, 9, and 16? Even haphazard guessing is welcome as far as I'm concerned.

(I'd ask over PM but I figured others might want to know your guess as well.)

Thanks,
PSS

On the topic of the Summer Open, has the structure been determined for the events? I was specifically wondering about event #16, but would be curious to know the rest. Like PSS, I would have PM'ed but I figure others might be interested. Thanks ahead of time.

IMHO the borgata sucks! The staff is rude, the waitresses are snobby to women, the pit bosses cater to the rich *******s and pay no mind to the regular middle class players, security is retarted, the clubs are full of young wannabee gangster ny *******s, and the customer service is terrible at the front desk. The only good thing about this place is the poker room. Great staff, awesome floor, and amazing dealers. Its too bad the rest of the place cant be like the poker room.

Event #1 Tab and myself are guessing between 800 and 1000. Harrah's had 435 but started on a wednesday and was only a $200 event. Ours has two day starts and starts on a Sunday.

Event #9 This event has only one starting day and is starting on a Monday. We feel 500 or more for this one.

Event #16 This event has two stating days. Starts on a Sunday. we're are hoping for 600.

Please remember this is just a guess. These are the numbers that we are using to staff the room. Hopefully we will make these numbers.

Tab is working next to me right now on the final structures. He said that they could be up tomorrow.

No .... The Floor just brings say 10 extra racks for 2/5 NL, and they leave the chip tray in tact

This is surely faster and it has more of a "customer service" feel

This is against CCC regulations. All chips must be placed into the rack before dispersing.

I always get chips at the cage when I'm near the top of the list. I don't understand why anyone wouldn't.

Floorman seemed amazed when I do this. If the list is 4-5 deep I get my chips right away at Borgata and usually take a seat on those nice coumfy couches. When theres no list I still get my chips first, before finding the 1/2 floor guy.

I could see if your playing a higher limit why you wouldn't want to be walking with a rack of $2,000+ in chips while waiting for a seat but I'd love to see the dude that will ambush me in the middle of the crowded poker room to try and get away with $300.

That would be awesome to see 1000 entrants in Event #1. I figure though considering how the March deepstack went with almost 1k entrants, I would expect at least that many then right? Especially considering it's summer and college kids like myself are off from school.
