can someone fill me in about...whether or not you should or have to go to the podium to clock out after each session, and what the positives and negs are if you do or dont? thanks

Do you want comps loaded onto your card to spend? If so, then you need to go to the shift mgr desk in back. You don't need to just to "clock out", that is done at the table.

That system is ridiculous don’t know why they implemented it

So less people use their comp dollars, and MGM can increase it's bottom line. Same thing everything at this casino now centers around.

Nah, they're not hoping people don't manually load their comps to increase their revenue that would be too smart of them, they're actually just too dumb to figure out how to auto load comps from bravo to MGM.

Currently playing some 1/3 at the Borgata…some of these preflop bets are funny. People throwing out $28 to win a $6 pot.
Also, some shady table tactics like the move where the elderly gentleman tabs his finger to indicate a check and then after it checks around, he bets $50 (“I didn’t check!”). Whatever bro.

This room has a lot of older reg types that are tight and will also angle and take advantage of weak dealers when given the opportunity (I'm not saying that's what happened here). I've played here almost every day for months so I know them all. The regulars and the older players here are the ones at the bottom of my preferred player preferences for sure (not all of them but they know who they are).

Call the floor and argue your case. If he lets 3 people check and he does not say he did not act, he loses his action. Even if you do not get the ruling you want, if he gets called on it a couple of times, he will stop or rulings will go against him in the future. You might even tilt the douche)

While this may or may not have been true when MGM implemented it at their other properties years ago, Borgata did it to be on the same system as other MGM properties so that you can use your comps at other MGM casinos without having to jump through hoops.

Yes, it can be a pain, but I find it best to just get them added every 10th trip or so

It’s done so often I’ve gotten numb to it. It’s usually done in painfully obvious situations too like $6 pot and it’s KK4 and some guy bets 30. Duh he got a king lol not even worth starting an argument over imo

Yea so it’s a losing battle and it pretty much allows you to see their cards without seeing them, so for me I just ignore it. Plus if you somehow have pocket 4s in that situation you getting the other guys stack. So let them do it imo. The pump fake check I didn’t check thing I see normally results in all action being void and the original person bets.

This place sucks now. Plain horrible. Was down there couple weeks ago for work thing and couldn’t believe how bad it is. No more Bobby flay which was one of the best places in AC. No more comp rooms. No one working can’t find any workers. I was there on Thursday and Friday. Thurs night there was one game going in the high limit room. I used to come down 2/3 weekends a month in 2017/2018/2019 and played mostly 20/40 LHE. Used be such good energy in the packed card room with lot of people and workers and was fun. I go in there Friday morning and the cage isn’t even open. What a farce. Don’t get the no comp room thing bc I’d spend money at the restaurants and b bar and don’t they have excess rooms anyway. Anyway it’s little under two hour drive for me and that’s too much for a day trip so without the free rooms I wont go even I’m playing for much more than the room rates. They ruined b bar too. The whole thing is abysmal and it’s just surprising how bad they’ve made it there in such a short time. Used to love going down to borgata to play in the card room but now it’s ruined and it’s a shame.

I generally agree...... and yet the Borgata was sold out this weekend.

I heard though that they’re not operating all the rooms eg they don’t operate some 25% of the rooms along with cutback in cleaning staff or cleaning staff hours. So rather than comp those rooms out they took them out of service along w cutback in staff or staff hours. Seems like just another cheap skate move by mgm. I’m going to try other properties if I come down. Just absurd no one works there. Waiting 30 min line for cashier. Place has gone far downhill quickly.

That tracks. They know they're going to make money just by merely existing, and they don't see a great enough ROI when they do put money in, so why bother?

I agree it sucks, but, I highly doubt anything is going to change anytime soon
