I was there last week monday to friday and I didn't see anyone get too out of line. Than again I was playing 2/5 and 5/5 PLO.

Surprised we were able to get the 5/5 to run - it was called as a 2/2 PLO but we all wanted to play higher so they made it 5/5 luckily. I was enjoying myself on a heater and was drinking heavily. I think it was on a thursday we got the 5/5 to run.

This is my theory too.

I've not been to AC for 3+ years but i don't recall being close to as appalled before, and I probably did run bad with tables, but I had some real beauties.

Went for a long weekend and had a good time playing 2-5, and the daily on Friday…

The cage situation is pretty bad (no poker room cage beyond a few hours around tourney registration…) our 2-5 table ran out of chips (20-30 bucks) in the rack at one point and floors were letting players sell chips to other players at the table lol…
had rec players not being able to buy back in after gamble jamming their short stacks…

Otherwise, dealers were good for the most part. Was there Thursday and had under 10 tables and nothing above 2-5 which was surprising to me, but standard these days (regs at the series)…games were good and the free drinks are always nice

Had the same experience as kimoser.
I asked the floor what the deal is with chips and she started venting to me how the poker room is being neglected by MGM and security was busy in the casino and wasn't responding to fill requests. I did notice that EVENTUALLY there were some fills but the combination of a closed poker room cashier AND very limited fills was ridiculous.

The cage situation is really bizzare. Has been going on since the reopen from
Pandemic. Not sure what to think, is mgm trying to sabotage the poker scene?

Lol I forgot to say about that. I had to go to main cage (with massive line) to collect tournament cash but also and worse when leaving a cash game they couldn't colour me lol, had to walk free almost entire length of casino to main cage with nearly 2 full racks of reds, annoying and not the most fun.

I think it's due to a worker shortage, both for security and the cage. Fills can take hours. When I went to the main cage to cash out, one of the regular poker room cashiers was there and when I asked her about it, she said "you know anyone who wants job?"

I'm sure they're blaming a "worker shortage" rather than a "properly paying job shortage", but it's still annoying.

If fills are a problem, wouldn't a smart floor be looking at two racks of red and thinking they want to keep them in the room? "Your table doesn't need it, but come over here where the tray is almost empty."

Or maybe it's the fact that workers are being paid by the government MORE money to sit at home while blaming it on the "pandemic". You would be stupid not to accept that offer.

I was stopped after racking up about a week ago and by an alert supervisor and asked if they can color me up for another game. He was yelling at me and running towards me from pretty far away.

How are workers being paid more by the government? That ended in August.

I've no idea of the rules in the room, but yeah that would make sense.

lol - solid effort but unfortunately not the reason (for myriad factors not least of all the fact that that is no longer the case, also if dealers aren't even earning $600/week in NJ that's hardly much of a living, but let's not go all politarding).

Many people have left the industry for good.

Actually, the pandemic unemployment assistance has run out for basically everyone so they'd be getting less to stay home.

I haven’t been to Borgata since Feb but I was able to finally get a hold of someone in customer service and I only have sundays and Monday’s comped rooms available lol

It seems if I do a full 8 hour session now it will not guarantee I will get Fridays and Saturdays back

Can anyone confirm? I’m hearing so many different things about room comps for poker players since MGM took over

There is absolutely 0 guarantee. All you can do is play and hope for the best.

Take this for what it's worth.
I was playing with a guy that told me he is getting comped rooms from just playing poker. He said he plays mostly 1/3, sometimes 2/5, almost no slots or table games and he is getting offers for all days of the week. He even showed me his account on his phone and booked a Friday and a Saturday while we talked. He said he plays at least 8 hours a day.

Sure if they throw unsustainable $’s at folks, say raising wages from $15-$20 to &60-$80 per hour, they could get staff. But if they did you would not like what else would change. At a min you would see European or underground room rakes. You would be BEGGING for the drop to be only $5+2 and the games would really go to s*** since the regs would just stop coming.
