What a s$@! show. MGM just had to muck it up. Borgata poker going to decline hard over the next few years. North Jersey or proper NYC casino with full poker room will be the death knell.

Borgata will still be packed when wpt tourneys come back. But yes besides that I think this will hurt them in the long run. Short term right now with the thirst for
North east poker I think they’ll be aight

In my experience, Borgata is really inconsistent right now. You can have a great experience, you can have a horrific experience. It reminds me of Tropicana when it was on the ropes and probably dodging calls from creditors.

I hope it's just a chaotic period due to management change and return from Covid times, and that it'll stabilize in time. I'm only coming there because I get comped rooms (I'm not sure why, maybe some regs put in a good word for me with the management).

I heard that the entire MLife system was down at MGM Springfield yesterday and that the outage was company-wide. Sounds like they are dealing with some technical issues.

If MGM NH is any indication of how they manage the poker clientele then don't expect anything exciting with the comps situation. As long as they can manage the room without giving out zilch tp the players in terms of comps they will do that.

Haven't been to Borgata since late 2019. Planning a trip next week.

What is the min and max buy in at 1/3 ?

Are the 1/3 games playing any bigger - or does there tend to be more money on the table since the shift from 1/2 to 1/3.

How much time are you allowed to be away from the table prior to risk being picked up ?

Thanks

1/3NL. Buy-in 100min, 400max

Pick-ups are after two missed BBs, so short breaks only. Speed of the process after floor call may vary.

I haven't been down since Jan 2020 so cant speak about the game play. But I plan to go next month.

For the FAQ, can people who've been there recently confirm:

- all the partitions are gone?
- games are 8-handed? (or is it 9?)
- all tables are in use?
- any change on spectators?

Thanks

The dividers are gone, 8 player games, all tables are in uses except for a couple, and if you're waiting for a game, God forbid if your feet are on the carpet u need to be outside in the hallway (so no spectators and no waiting for games in the room).

They did however put 4 old beat up chairs (I guess someone was throwing them out) near the front podium for your relaxing pleasure (warning you will sink in them when you sit down).

FWIW, The rules prohibiting spectators and people on the list from standing around the room aren’t strictly enforced during slow times of the day, i.e. early in the day or late at night.

So I go up to the podium to ask for comps to be transferred, one of the podium directors says ‘really?’ In a sarcastic tone then looks away. And the other director asks if I can come back later because they are busy right now :/

Wow. I'd just be standing there speechless. Should be egregious enough to report, but I have no confidence anything will change.

My trips to borgata may be coming to an end. I enjoy the spa and pools and food. But if rooms are gone, comps are a pain in the ass, and customers are treated like this -- it's not worth it by a mile.

I am no fan of MGM or the senior management of Borgata’s poker room but I have to say that the people managing the desk have been very cooperative and helpful when I have gone to them to request that my comps be transferred over. They were as apologetic that we players have to do be inconvenienced with it as I was for having to bother them.

I must add that the floor staff has been almost always positive, but it is just a bit frustrating to have gone to the back multiple times in the last month and either getting the wrong information or turned down. Will try again later tonight, hopefully they will be less busy…

They tried to pull that on me once. He gave me a look and said "do u need it right now?"

I said "yes, I do need it right now". (I was checking out the next day and wasn't about to come in the room early in the morning to do it).

It's sad to see this room deteriorate like they are.

Just got an apology email from Borgata that they are giving away $50 free express comp dollars because of the system outage yesterday. Still have yet to post to my express comp balance though.

I know 2 people who were there that day. A husband who plays table games and his wife who plays slots.

He got $50 comps. She got 50 slot dollars.
