Are they really gonna check unmasked people on their vaccinations, or is it an honesty is the best policy situation?

No one is allowed to ask due to federal hipa laws. Today for the first time I was at a table where no one was wearing a mask (except for the dealer who still has to). It truly baffles me that some people are still wearing a mask and some of them only over their mouth and not their nose.

Incorrect. HIPAA says that if Borgata asks your doctor if you've been vaccinated, your doctor can't tell them. It has nothing to say about asking you about your own health.

I’m probably still going to wear the mask. At least if I take it off for 2 seconds to drink something I won’t have the dealer chastising me to put it back on instantly like I’m a 2 year old

If we get enough unvaccinated people to lie & say they are vaccinated then.... what could go wrong? (Besides more unvaccinated people getting exposed, possibly dying, and giving the virus more time to spread & mutate into something new).

Playing now and it looks like about half the tables have the plexiglass. Dealers were told that the mask policy for them may change monday. On an unrelated note i just noticed mgm got rid of the wells fargo atms and replaced them with the standard high fee machines.

Lol yeah but some aren't comfortable doing so. Personally I already have been but some people distrust Pharma companies / think the risk of vax outweighs risk of getting sick. I'm not a doctor or educated enough to tell them otherwise

Yes but remember it's not just an individuals' safety. It's also for the benefit of the community (although if the virus has a chance to mutate then it can come back and kill you...)

I keep coming back to analogies with drunk driving which might go something like: "I'm young & so I'll probably survive an accident (plus being drunk usually helps survivability), so why would I give an excrement if I kill a bunch of other people! I want to make my deeply personal/religious/whatever choice to drive drunk!"

Granted this isn't a perfect analogy since we don't know 100% that the vaccine won't have some long-term effect but.... it's the best we've got... AND it looks REALLY good!

Mask wearing related to borgata is on topic though. According to members here and jersey mandates I think they no longer require masks. That is relevant information that people should know about in making their decision on whether or not they want to gamble in this establishment. That along with the new shitty rewards system.
Also any idea on when plexiglass getting completely removed? I was there a few weeks back and the dealers opinion was those things would be in place til next spring lol. Boy was he wrong

I stayed\played there over the weekend and masks are no longer required. They removed all the temperature scanning stations, removed # of tables restrictions in the poker room, stopped cleaning seats\table in front of the new players, and actively removing plexiglass partitions from poker tables. I played for few hours at the table without partitions and:
1.I feel naked without a mask and plastic dividers.
2. Poker is a lot more fun when you can talk to people without killing the eardrums of your next table neighbors.
3. The game was still 7 handed (at least for now).

Booked a trip for the weekend of 18th, excited to check out the non-plexiglass partition

How generous are the room comps for poker players these days? I used to play here several years ago and remember that it wasn't that difficult to get two nights per week just from playing poker. If this is still viable, I might take a trip to the area this summer.

Does anyone else find it ridiculous that no one from Borgata poker management has been able to find like 10 minutes to update their Bravo page? That same information has been up there since early January!

I dunno, that stuff just annoys me. Seems lazy on their part, but I guess they just don't care to do it.

Has anyone heard when our tier credits from poker play will be uploaded into the MGM system? I think tier credits are what room offers are based on.
