There is just no way. Dealers say a bunch of things that are inaccurate.

Got a comped room for Wed and Thursday but was too late (I guess) to get comped for tonight. Booked thru website, it seems like no rooms available. What are my chances of being able to just pay for a room for tonight at the desk? If not very good then I'll book somewhere else asap

Pretty sure it's cause they had comped me 2 nights already. Tried getting it free tonight too but desk guy wasn't having it( haven't been here since January). On the bright side won 4 buyins at the new 2/2 plo table in 90 mins. Better lucky than good

Don't feel bad - it's pretty hard to get more than 2 nights a week comped, even if you're getting comped weekends.

yea 79.99 plus "resort fees", taxes, and miscellaneous fees so it's like 109 total. Poker players usually only get two nights per week free.

Great if you don’t mind waiting 7 hours to get on

Played 5/10 NL Friday evening and Saturday. At least the people for the most part did not wander for too long. The games were not good IMO. Hardly anyone talking to each other. I left 6:00 PM on Saturday, when I normally would leave midnight or later (I was up both days, so it wasn’t because I was losing that I left).

if you had to wait 7 hours because no one wants to leave the game, the only chance a seat opens up is because the action got up

Tables are relatively spaced out (it’s a huge room) and yes. At the worst someone might get away with the trick of having the mask below their nose for a little bit but eventually someone tells them to put the mask up. It’s annoying that grown men are playing dumb and gotta be treated like kindergarteners but it is what it is

depends on the game
a couple weeks ago plo lists on weekends were that long even when they games weren't that good bc they only had 30 tables. people didn't want to get up bc they knew they would have to wait all day for a seat. or they would get up, get on the dinner list and then they would be first up.

the waits have gotten way shorter.

Did anyone who took the last half year+ off had success booking a comped room?

I used to have 2 days a week + most Fridays before the entire covid thing, but then did not play since March. When I went to check the system couple of days ago, I saw no comped rooms and as far as I understand it is because the system resets every 6 months.

Did anyone in a similar situation had success booking comped rooms over the phone or some other way based on 'before covid play history' or are they unable to look that up/consider that?

Haven't been down since March, still had any two days a week comped last time I checked a few weeks back

I haven't played since 2/29, and my offers appear unchanged. Or only slightly, depending on whether the Water Club is closed or not available to me. But for Classic rooms, it's all comped as far as the calendar goes except NYE, MLK Saturday and Sat 2/27.

Do you use your card for non-poker gaming? I suspect that involves a different system.

People really need to have better etiquette as far as taking breaks.

Too many people get up when someone else is already up, or even worse 2 people are already up and when that happens half the time nobody wants to play, games break etc.
You know people get picked up pretty quickly so wait until the seat gets filled if it's empty and there's a list or the people on break come back. While I personally like short handed a lot of people don't and this stuff is ruining games.

The people who leave for 20 mins, come back as they're getting bagged, play an orbit or two and then do the same thing multiple times need to just get kicked out. It's not fair to people who actually want to play, wait on long lists etc.

I understand someone playing all day needing a food break (and they'll still only get 2 buttons) but there are people playing 4 hours who are seriously gone for almost half of them.

Of course these types of people are the same ones who won't help start games at all.And they're the ones shocked when they come back from their 7th break at 2 am that the game is breaking.

I have had a few people say "hey i'm gonna go eat when that guy comes back" which I appreciate and sets a good example for others.

That two lammer system is really a kick in the nutz to players who are coming out to play and supporting the room. Yesterday a guy ran to place a football bet and left us 4 handed, got two lammers really quick and almost got picked up in less than 10 min. They should really use a 30 min break rule, or even 15 min. (for the people who don't take advantage of breaks, of course). You can't even run down stairs for a quick snack without missing two big blinds in a 6 handed game.

In regards to the habitual walking players, they just don't give a **** period, so there's nothing anyone can do to change them.

If all these games are breaking because they become short and the room has huge waitlists it's really a nonissue - the floor just starts a new table for you.

My experience has been pretty crap this past weekend:

A few people walked and the table decided to break, even though I wanted to keep playing shorter. Because there were not enough seats at tables running late at night for all of us, we had to draw cards. I drew a low card so I could not play. They took my phone number but I never received any message even though I checked later that there were seats open.

There are two things that annoy me about this:
- If a person votes to keep the game going, they should not have to draw cards. They should be #1 by default for other tables. This is how they have always done it, and I never thought it was fair to the players that wanted to keep playing at current table. As an added benefit, if people knew that they might not get a seat immediately, fewer people would be inclined to break games.

- This SMS system is not run well from my limited experience. Lots of complaints from people not getting texts/etc.
