I don't think you can unless it's a part of "M Life Moments" package and those are just stupidly priced. Grind till $1,500 and get yourself a tattoo?

your best bet is probably to take your buddies/relatives to a steak dinner and give them 25-30% break on the bill?

I believe you can purchase a gift card for the express comps at 1 to 1. I see them sold on ebay from time to time. May be your best option.

I guess not. My brain stuck "entertainment" in there somehow.

I only use mine for room fees and a nice dinner once or twice a year.

Express Comps™ cannot be used to purchase gift cards.

Room service and massages at the spa would be my way to spend $1.5k in comps

Amazon web services is having their conference this upcoming week. Any thoughts on how the games will be? On one hand, lots of programmer money, on the other, usually not the wildest gamblers.

More bodies nearly almost equals better games, no?

(More bodies = more games; there are always going to be bad games in the mix, so more games = more bad games?)

(Even when it's for a promo...regs and promo chasers are largely bad or at least predictable players, just maybe a little different-bad when there's a $500 HH in the mix. [$500 HH is Fri-Sat this week.])

(And smart people with money to lose aren't necessarily good poker players, even if they believe their skillz apply.)

(Parentheticals ftw!)

(Just piling on.)

The 1/2PLO list will be a mix of people who would rather play higher and people who won't play higher. I suspect if the higher games are going and seats are somewhat available, a 1/2 game might not go if called. A fair number of the won't-play-higher people won't start a game short. They'll lock up a seat and then stay at 1/2NL and grump to each other when it doesn't go.

tl;dr: It can be hard to start and hard to maintain. A buddy of mine who occasionally comes with has only gotten to play it once, I think. (And got his ass kicked, so who knows how interested he still is.) I know I'm too bad at it to play.

2/2 regulars definitely shoot themselves in a foot over and over again, the extreme nittery the unwillingness to start the game short even with a few fun players is very off-putting

the constant strategy talk that verges on idiocy "I knew he had top boat I only call him with quads here" after some fun player pays off the super nit otr

and then they wonder why the game doesn't go

Can you point me to a web site that provides this "rich fish convention" information? ;-)

Thanks

this is very accurate.the 2/2 regs love to ***** about the game not running but god forbid they play short handed for 20 mins at 9 oclock at night when the game will easily fill up.their strategy talk is like nails on a chalk board. not only is it terrible for the game, their entire strategies revolve around not losing rather than trying to win a lot.

the 5/5 regs have completely shot themselves in the foot as well.the rules nittery, treatment of fun players, and just general miserable vibe have destroyed it. the game used to run every single day even on tuesdays with parx having tons of games. now you're guaranteed friday and satuday and that's about it. other days it's completely hit or miss and usually only for a few hours.not sure if i'm allowed to mention even just first names on here so i won't- but most of the guys who actually live in that area and play there every single day have zero clue how to cultivate good fun games and keep them that way.then of course they want to complain about the games not running/being short handed/being a **** game.it's mind boggling that these people play 2000-2500 hours a year and are so determined to suck every ounce of fun from their own games.

100% this. I was there a few weeks ago and was stuck a substantial amount after a marathon 2/5 session. I decided it was time to gamble and went to the 5/5 with a full buy-in. Before even sitting down a cocky reg who's there all the time says to me "when are you due." I said to him "did you say what do you do?" to which he responded, "no, when are you due." Just to be clear, I'm a guy, and yes, I'm overweight. I'm a complete rando to them and for all they know I was there to punt my stack and leave (which I actually was), or better yet reload and punt more (that, I was not going to do). I wouldn't say I was upset but I was bothered enough to not want to play anymore - folded a couple hands and proceeded to crush some table games for $4k, turning a net profit. Good for me, bad for the game.

These are real estate agents, not real estate investors/owners. Some have deep pockets, most do not.

As a whole, the Borgata 2/5 (and probably 5/5) regs are the most high-schoolish, off-putting group of people I’ve been around. Maybe they’ve seen you enough to know you as not being very fishy and wanted you out of the game. If you play a tight game, they’ll make it low-key known that you’re not welcome there. You should feel good that they didn’t want you at the table. Still terrible, of course.

Most importantly, though, almost all of them have big egos. I would know, I am an agent, and have a large ego.

Glad you crushed the pit.

Just reading that cornball joke makes me cringe.
And I'm 99 percent sure I know the reg that would say such a thing .He constantly makes terrible jokes and is one of the 2 main culprits I mentioned who lives there and absolutely ruins games.

Sorry you didn't have a better experience in the game. While I love playing plo and have made good money from it I totally understand any player looking for a fun time who doesn't play Borg plo anymore.

I don't come down often, but had been thinking about trying the PLO -- literally zero chance after reading in this thread about it.

Visited the borgata to play 2/5 and the cards they use are really poor. Stiff and hard to see. I had to keep double checking my hand. Especially with a jack or 4.

The Faded Spade cards are total garbage -- we went this weekend also, and at one point had a shuffler issue...then another shuffler issue...then the floorman spotted that there was a card in the red deck that was so miscut that it was throwing a red light every time.
