Floors aren't allowed to accept tips in AC to my knowledge. At least not at the Borgata.

i was always told that it is a new jersey state law that requires 3% taken out of prize pool for dealer tips. wsop circuit events in nj dont do it because the dealer tip is included part of the high vig they charge.

IIRC, the law was changed not too long ago to allow the 3% for the dealers, but there's no requirement.

Question for you low stakes regs. Few of us (likely) heading to either AC or Philly tomorrow and have a decision to make.

Any guess at how many runners the black chip bounty event will have?

The answer was somewhere in the 30s I think, fun tournament, but holy ****ing **** did I have to listen to a lot of painful strategy talk. If there's one thing I hate about low stakes poker (and tournaments seem to be the worst of it).

Quickest way to tell you're dealing with a bad reg, someone that seems to know how to play ABC but still is way too lose preflop who criticizes your play.

I back-raise jammed to isolate a 4bb shove with a bounty in a multiway limped pot with 78s and the others' folded and I won.

They all tutted and rolled their eyes and made a ton of comments.

One player - "I folded 8s!"

Me - "LOL, no way"

"I did!"

Also the next morning I had to deal with a self-proclaimed expert on my direct left who had 2 friends playing in their first ever poker tournament and they were clearly looking up to him as some sort of mentor. I felt bad for them actually because they clearly thought he was good and were looking for some advice, but he was godawful.

Flatting a raise with QTs off of 9bb then folding to a jam, open limping QJo from EP off of like 15bb, etc etc etc. Standard awful tournament plays which he explained to his team.

One of those guys that feels the need to demonstrate how much he knows to prove a point. First thing he did was ask the dealer if the betting line played at The Borgata when he sat down. ****ing LOL.

When I busted (I defended A9ss and check-jammed the K Q 7ss flop only to get snapppppppppppped by 79hh and he held) had to deal with a lot of analysis on my hand from that guy too. I told his friends on the way out to perhaps look to other sources of poker knowledge if they want to get good.

I'm coming to the Borgata this Friday and Saturday to play PLO. Any concern that games won't be running because of Good Friday/Easter?

Sunday will be pretty dead. Think I was there last Easter and recall not even being able to get a 5/10 going. Friday/sat not at all.

just logged into my borgata account and noticed all my comped rooms are gone, and i now have a "fiore suite" option at the top. Used to have sunday-thursday comped and just regular or water club options to choose from. Anybody else experience something similar? FWIW i was at the borgata only about 2-3 months ago so don't see why things would have dissapeared

Three months with no play could be enough for your offers to run down. Whatever criteria the system uses, it's built to reward loyalty. If it doesn't see loyalty, it doesn't give rewards. You might be seeing other casinos on the side, you might not, but it still wants your attention if it's going to keep putting out.

What's the rule at Borgata on whether you need to show your hand at showdown if the other player mucks? Somehow this happened to me three times in a 6 hour session on Sunday. Each time I was the caller, and the pre-flop aggressor mucked without either of us showing. Twice I was told I didn't need to show and was just shipped the pot, and once I was told to show. Not a big deal, but curious.

Winning hand doesn't have to show if other hands fold. At least so I was told. But at one time at showdown I was folded to, I was bluffing, opponent verbally said fold and started to muck the hand then turned his hand over, just as I was starting to toss my hand into the muck, the dealer started to push the chips to him. I made a big stink about it as my hand was at the muck when he turned over his cards.

I called floor and he just gave up the pot. Guessing he had done this before.

It used to be that if a hand went to showdown, a hand had to be shown to get the pot.

The recent "Poker Guide" says

Quote:
If only one player remains with cards at Showdown, the showdown is uncontested. The last player with a live hand will win the pot and is not required to show his cards, however, the Borgata Poker Room may require the disclosure of the hand. link
You might still get a regular piping up with "doesn't he have to show?" and a dealer not arguing to move things along.

Thanks, makes sense that the rule changed. I've never seen so many people muck without showing!

June 6th is when Borgata is switching from MyBorgata to MLife rewards program.

I wonder if you can re-up your Blackcard on June 5th with Borgata's match of Caesar's Diamond/7stars if it's nowhere near expiring?
ie: I did my match back in Nov so the blackcard doesn't expire till 11/2018.

My black card expires in May. After getting felted (again, UGH) I went to re-up, but was told I can't until May 1.

Two comped for me.

The "How many nights?" menu offers more than two, but the third comes up with a discounted rate when I select three (COMP, COMP, $69 when I selected a Tuesday; COMP, COMP, $89 when I selected a Friday).

Does anyone know if they are switching over to the mlife website also or are they keeping theborgata.com? I'm going up next week and if I find out it's a complete switch to mlife, I'm probably never coming back to AC.
