$5+0 rake here would be best, like Bellagio/Aria. No one comes to the Borgata for high hands or a bad beat jackpot! Tell management.

Pretty sure they do/the whole point is to attract players who wouldn't usually come otherwise.

I personally prefer no jackpot drop but at lowest stakes I would suspect I'm in the minority.

I could do without the high hand nonsense. I find tables with regfish soft-playing each other while hunting for the high hand to be a toxic dynamic. If I were a casual player sitting down on such a table, I would be justifiably wondering whether I'm playing in a straight up game.

Wondering if your playing in a "straight up game"? I play here 4 days a week (since Jan.) and I don't see any toxic dynamics.

Maybe you're lucky or I was unlucky. I don't play that often, but one time when I sat down on Saturday at around 10 am, I got a table full of OMCs that knew each other well, and who seemed to frequently check it down if they were the only ones left in the pot. They also discussed signals to let others know that they're drawing to a high hand, and I've actually seen one hand where one player gave a hint, and another player acknowledged that he got the hint. Some of these OMCs also gave me death glares and solemn vows of playing with me next time when I was raising their limps, though I guess that part could be just standard live experience for someone whose pre-flop raising range is wider than AA-QQ and AKs. All in all, it's not a fun environment, at least not if you're not part of that clique.

Was thinking about going to AC for the first time since pre-pandemic.

I had about a few hundred $$ of express comps and had a lot of comped rooms. This new system, I have 0 express comps(don't know how long they extended expiration) and now no comped rooms AT ALL.

Anyone experience this? Or know when express comps expired?

I think you should call Borgata customer service to discuss . Since they changed to the new system, some of us have been left confused with more questions than answers in regards to our comps and tier credits

Comps expire after a certain time, and if you haven't been since before pandemic, that's gone. The recent upgrade has thrown everyone's comp room calendars in tatters. Whether it's a temporary glitch and will return, or if they're gone due to new algorithms is anyone's guess.

Can't hurt to call and talk to someone and see if they'll reinstate your comp balance. Never hurts to ask. But I am not confident.

Just stumbled upon this. You must be a winning player. At 1/2.

They pushed EC expiration to end of March 2021, IIRC. (As in nothing would roll off before then.)

I guess whether or not everything you had could have been expired since then would depend on your card level and when you were last there. If you're a blue card and had a bunch close to expiration at shutdown, maybe it could be right. I'd still try calling or going to the Mlife desk.

Sorry table changes and timing is more important

Table full of OMC just run them all over. Not that hard

It is rare nowadays, most people you play against you’d recognize from a previous trip. Especially at 5/10, it’s the same group of people, and the recreational players are all repeat visitors (and plays decently enough).

That said, I did have one guy join at 1am with two of his buddies on a 2/5 game that was about to break. He proceeds to blind raise to $40 preflop and only peek at his cards on the flop.

Visiting Borgata for first time since Covid. Overall place is pretty dismal. They seem very understaffed and lots of riff raff players.

Has anyone been able to see weekend rooms comped in the last week just playing poker? Seems like weekend rooms are booked full for the whole summer, at least for poker players.

Would playing high limits - 5/10+ help here or is it strictly off tier credits earned?

I don’t even get weekdays anymore. I’ve played 30 hours a week of variety of games and stakes with 2/5 being the smallest,, as well as some slot action/table game action when friends come to town etc. cheapest rooms it shows on the app /site now are 200$ + fees for a Monday. Have tried calling once and they just told me what it showed on the app so I don’t know if calling really makes a difference.

I think they are just giving up on poker and will be nuking the entire room. Might be over for AC poker other than just as a small game/locals market unless another room wants to step up and take the business.

I’ve also heard that tournaments will never be coming back/they are giving up on those as well.

What stakes do you usually play if you don't mind me asking?

Yes I've put in 13hr/day on my last trip (2 nights, 39h total) at 2/5 and 5/10 and it has not helped at all. Before this, I used to get all weekends comped just from 2 days of play per month.

Funnily enough, now I get everything comped at MGM National Harbor, MGM Springfield, and Excalibur (lol). Sadly those are all a bit too far for a weekend trip

all of my room comps are nuked

i would be absolutely shocked if borg never gets tournaments again, but then again nothing they do in their poker room makes sense.
