I think if you play at the Borg (esp. 2/5 +, i never play higher than 2/5 pers.), u cant show up with less than 3 bi-s and nit it up. Variance is way higher than other places, but the game are very juices, and if you can adapt to games that tend to play bigger than what they are (i honestly come across 2/5 game like this at the B like 50% of the time), than you could be vey profitable.

And of course, it is the only place in town to pay tournaments.

It allows you to get max value when you make hands, and also run big bluffs when the situation presents itself.

The best games are the ones where people put you to the least amount of decisions, at the Borg people are constantly putting you to the test.

For instance the Trop is filled with old men who never put pressure and have endless cash and the Taj is filled with redneck degens who have no idea how to play anything but a pair and go to the grave with it.

as much as you may love to get it in with AKo v. QJd on a Kd 9d x flop, I dont really like being put in that spot to call and then for it to hold over and over again. it MAY be the most profitable if you can play 40k hands, but when you play 15 hands a half and have a normal life and cant play for 80 hours straight, its def NOT the best game.
congrats, u had a goldmine, know everyone knows about it

I'm considering a trip to play teh minbet pokerz, I think it's time.

Also, how about the 10/20? Is it red or blue chip game?

5/10 LHE goes, but generally only 1 table
10/20 is red chips

Played the Borg last night. Traffic seemed a bit lean for a Thursday, probably due to the Caesar's WSOP circuit tournament. That being said, a quick table change got me in some pretty good action, and it looked like there were a lot of Caesar's tournadonks making the Jitney ride over after they busted out.

That being your post, what level were you playing at? 2/5? 5/10?

I was playing 5/10NL. I contemplated dropping down to 2/5NL at one point when my table got pretty bad (the 2/5NL games in the main room looked as fishy as ever!) but then half my table picked up and were replaced by some action players that I didn't recognize. It became a very good game after that.

I've been on the ass end of variance lately, so it was good to pick up AA 200BB deep at the same time that 3 of the other guys picked up KK, QQ, and AKs.

Borgata is the ****.

If you wanna make money playing NLH go there.

The **** that happens there is simply just more ridiculous than other poker rooms in AC. It feels like a club when your in there and the atmosphere makes people more likely to forget you can buy things with money and you might not wanna just waste a large portion of it cause you wanna see the turn.

I got about 300 hours logged in AC and my lifetime hourly rate playing 1,2 there is roughly 20/hr give or take a buck or two.

But in like 75 hours at borgata, im averaging like 33 an hour.

That place kicks ass. Donk City baby..........

So you're making 50 bb/100? You think that's sustainable?

Wow nh. Borgata 5/10nl can be a grind with a table full of nitty regulars. Looks like the action is better now than it was in January. Hopefully when the Wed 15k gtd and the Friday 50k gtd get changed back to 30k and 75k more of the action tourney players will be in.

Any idea when they make this switch?

I'm going to chime in here with love for

1. Bottled Beer and Premium Liquors at the tables (yeah, I know Harrah's does it too now)
2. The comfy seats.

Chips look cool but suck to handle.

This is going to sound very naive, but since most of my play is at HET casinos, I'm not that knowledgable about Borgata.

Regarding the Black card, what advantages do you have over Red cardholders? Isn't there some kind of discount on the buffet or something? Also, is there a lounge or something that you get to enjoy?

I know Stan and Mable through the grapevine, so I'm sure I can obtain a black card if I play there regularly enough. What would be the advantage of playing mostly at Borgata rather than Harrah's? I don't see the platinum card at Harrah's as much of an advantage over the cardboard... I mean Gold card.

The seats are actually a problem. They may be comfy but they're too large and frequently interfere with each other when you pull up to the table.

Free Parking
$10 regular buffet
$10 black card buffet/lounge (free cocktails)

Borgata advantage - more than anything... probably game selection.

This is what I would make the changeover for most likely.

This is going to sound silly, but am I able to use my comp dollars for the $10 black card buffet/lounge?

Also, I'm under the impression that you can bring a guest to the regular buffet at the $10 rate. Is this also allowed for the buffet/lounge? The reason why I ask is b/c I'd obviously like to bring the wife to the lounge and i don't know how likely she'd achieve the black card status.

Yes - you can bring a guest to the lounge for $10 and yes you can use your comp dollars. The advantage to the black card that I personally make the most use of is that you are allotted two comped room nights per week, weekend nights included. I achieved black card status on my first visit to the Borgata (lol, brag or beat?), so I don't know how this compares to what they offer red members.

Do any sit and gos ever run at the Borgata, or is it mainly cash and the daily tournaments?

In my experience, SNGs run at Borgata with decent frequency, almost all $60+15 and $100+20, but the structures are horrible and a complete waste of money.

You MUST use comp dollars to pay for Black Card lounge access - i.e. no cash/credit. And yes, you can bring one guest.

The "comped room allocation" is probably not connected to any black card benefit. It's much more likely related (95%+) to whatever got you your black card status in one day.
