He was thrown out and banned for some unknown amount of time (probably 24 hrs or a week or something). That morning he shows up at the table and a guy says "weren't you thrown out for being in your underwear" and he sheepishly replies "yes". So the guy says "guess they didn't recognize you with your clothes on."

My first time at the Borgata was last Friday night. I'm done playing at 2am or so and go downstairs for a veggie burger. I'm standing on line with two guys who are collectively 6 sheets to the wind. There are two girls playing with each other. One of whom is wearing tight sweatpants with either a thong or no underwear. She is voluptuous and is fairly pretty. Her friend is wearing tight jeans showing off great legs and a jeans jacket. She is very pretty too. So this young guy is fixated on the girl in the tight sweats. Me and his buddy are egging him on to go over and get her number. The girls meanwhile are doing battle with each other using the chrome "swords" that everybody gets once they place their orders (like chrome sticks with an order number stuck in the top). And after about 5 minutes of this the young guy walks over to the girl in jeans, throws a hundred dollar bill on the floor next to her, and says "I've got $100 on 63" which happened to be the other girl (who is busy sliding her butt sensuously up and down a wall about 10 feet away). The girl in the jeans picks up the $100 bill and shoves it in her pocket without saying one word to the guy. The guy shuffles back to his friend without saying a word himself. Some time later my order comes and the young guy comes up to me and says "you owe me $100". At which point I set the record for downing a veggie burger, head to my car, and go to my motel.
LOL that is the best story ever. Can you post this in BBV4L?...If you don't, I will.

Sorry I couldn't wait. Response isn't so great, but you should post in there with some more details. I can't believe she took the money hahaha.

Flop came JT8, guy with the JT was an aggressive player that I didn't have much respect for, and I couldn't get away from it. Another time there I busted with JJ to 99 (99 flopped quads, that was pretty ugly), another time I had AK in the small blind, pre-flop raise to $30 by some maniac on the button who was holding the mighty 23o, of course I just call the $30 and A33 comes out on the flop. That's the last time I flat with AK pre-flop, it's either fold or re-raise.

I actually like the Showboat better as far as atmosphere goes (too much noise, too much hustle and bustle at Borgata for my taste), but they usually only have one $2/5 NL going and it's the same people, and if you don't get in on that table you can be waiting for hours. I know when I go to Borgata I'll have no problems getting in on a $2/5 NL game. If they had more $2/5 action at Showboat, I'd be going there.
learn to play post flop imo

Maybe its just my luck with table's there but the few times I've played 1/2 nle there has been about 3 people with huge stacks 1k+ at the table, a bunch of kids who play really tight and buy in for less than $100 and about 3-4 others. I never saw a hand where the flop was shown for 2 bucks. Every hand was raised to $25-30. Maybe it's just me but I don't like a game like that, esp with $300 max buy in. The room is immaculate but I'll stick to fishing at Ceasers.

Quick Borg Comp points question.

I know that food areas in the food court/starbucks redeem comp points as 2/1 dollar value.

Is this the same at the sit down restaurants (like Noodles of the World etc?) Or is it 1/1 value at the restaurants.

Also if you had 500 points just to blow, what would you get?

The food court/retail stores are the only 2/1 places. The sit down places and I think Bread/Butter is 1/1.

500 points that were expiring today? I'd probably hit up SeaBlue or Old Homestead.

I'd go to the spa and get a 50-min massage for you and your girl ($165 each, after tip/tax). If you need a haircut, the barbershop is $30, I think. I'd use the remaining for a nice meal at Old Homestead (not a big fan of Bobby Flay's).

Good ideas, so no really shopping opportunities? Like Foxwoods has an apple store (got an iphone through wampums before) anything like that available at the Borg shops?

10/20 is played with red $5 chips, so is 20/40.

Comps expire after 9 months, right? If I have $175 comp dollars, $30 of which are expiring this month and I spend $30 of my comps, are they taken from the expiring dollars, or will Borgata still take $30 away at the end of the month?

What stakes does PLO run at?

I'll be there 3/20-3/22. Would be up for PLO but not very high -- maybe 2/5 at most.

Comp dollars are good for 6 months only and yes, they use the "older" ones first.

I bought a couple of very nice room towels in the shop across from the poker room, might have been 1:2 comp dollars.

Gonna play this Sunday in the $165 + $35 satellite (for the $1.5k Borgata Deepstack March 21-24th). Anybody have a guess at how many players this will get? I know it's up against a $300 event at the WSOP circuit.

2 things...

first, 5 pages and not one mention of the chip issues?

second, if we all agree the best players in the city play at the Borg, why would I go there when people at other places are just giving their money away?

NJ,

Depending on what stakes you play there may or may not even be a game to play at the other casinos.

Borg consistently has 10+ 1/2NL games running and almost as many 2/5NL games.

What other casino in AC will have 4 10/20NL tables and a wait list?

The reason to go to Borgata is clear, the volume is so much higher than everywhere else that the fish still outnumber the sharks by a wide number.

As for the chips, it's been beaten more than Tina Turner so what's the point? They suck. We know they suck. There are reasons why they use them.

beaten more than Rihanna?

about the limit games, i didnt really think about that. point taken. i mostly play 2-5 NL, with 5-10NL here and there.

I find the NL games at the Borg to be a big shoot it up, flop a draw shove, variance fest like the NYC clubs use to be. and in the world of the online players and infinite hands thats not a big deal or consideration, but pretty annoying to someone who exclusively plays live.

You just described the most profitable type of game. What are you looking for, a nit fest where you're stealing the blinds once or twice per round?

Besides, it can be tough to even get into a 2/5nl game (and forget about 5/10nl) at most of the other casinos in town. At the Borg, you can actually game select.

I disagree.

I think the most profitable games in AC are the games where players are loose passive and never put you to decisions.

It allows you to get max value when you make hands, and also run big bluffs when the situation presents itself.

The best games are the ones where people put you to the least amount of decisions, at the Borg people are constantly putting you to the test.

For instance the Trop is filled with old men who never put pressure and have endless cash and the Taj is filled with redneck degens who have no idea how to play anything but a pair and go to the grave with it.

as much as you may love to get it in with AKo v. QJd on a Kd 9d x flop, I dont really like being put in that spot to call and then for it to hold over and over again. it MAY be the most profitable if you can play 40k hands, but when you play 15 hands a half and have a normal life and cant play for 80 hours straight, its def NOT the best game.

Borgata has the most 2/5 games going consistently, however you can find a regular 2/5 game elsewhere. Also, the 5/5NL at Harrah's and 2/5 $1k max at Taj are VERY good games.

Borgata, however will always have a bigger selection. I wish they spread 2/5 $1k max tho.

Fine. Then change tables. At the Borg you'll have a choice.

And, btw, the 2/5nl games at the Borg are super easy to crush. Like "win 3/4 of your sessions for an average of $50/hour" crush. See my post earlier in the thread.

I keep seeing people post that the best players play at Borg. Why do you think that is. . . ?
