I hope I missed Stan announce that today's 11a tourney wouldn't be guaranteed. I can't remember the last time Borgata had to eat 10k to guarantee a tournament.

There's a whole army of us who stay at Harrah's and play mainly at the Borg. I mean seriously, this week I was at Harrah's 4 days/3 nights. Played about 30 hrs at the Borgata and 8 at Harrah's. I personally know 6 other people who were doing the same thing. One day, Harrah's will stop being so liberal with their room comps and then I will cry and have to go back to the days of spending the night in my car while in AC.

Lol, I'm actually staying at Harrahs tonight for the first time but will be playing mostly 2-5 at the borgata, I mean $99 for a saturday night, much better then sleeping in the car

It was guaranteed. This, I believe is the third time we missed the guarantee. But that is what happens when you guarantee something. We could have easily canceled it but that is not what the Borgata is about. We want the players to know that when we guarantee a tournament, it is truly a guarantee.

Can you confirm that NJ casinos can now withhold a percentage of a tournament's prize pool for dealers?

If so, is this something that you would consider doing in Borgata tournaments? For me, it makes sense. Many players don't know if they should tip and, if they should, how much. Doing this would make it easier for everyone and would ensure that tournaments dealers would be properly compensated for their time.

Obviously, it's important to ensure that withholding money from the prize pool for dealers is stated clearly in the tournament details when/if it is done.

I just came back from the room. I can't give a game report, but 75-150 stud was already going and at least two tables of 40/80. Plus a billion 1-2 and 2-5 games.

Little story: I was on a 3/6 table with a bunch of regulars. There was one old guy, not a regular, who was losing. He started off being funny about it: "I'm going to kill myself over those $7" and "Oh, honey, you beat me again!".

As he kept losing, he actually got angry. We weren't sure if he was kidding or what, but suddenly he (tried) to yell a racial slur at the dealer. The whole table flipped out at him. When the floor came over, everyone backed the dealer and guy was kicked out of the game.

Anyway: Yay for the 3/6 regulars....that wouldn't happen at every poker table, especially at the rate the guy was losing.

He said something about Koreans and the dealer......wasn't Korean.

You take your shot? If so how did it go? How much $$$$$ was on the table?

I'm a regular 2/5 player.....but I'm gonna take a shot in the 5/10 next weekend....if I get knocked out of the Triple-Play.

I lost 1400. Bought in for 10k. A bluff went wrong, a calldown went wrong and couldn't flop much of the few hands I could even play pre. Then AA vs KK got me back to 7k and won a few more small ones. Game was ok but not great and I think I would have a decent edge at my best but I was too tired to play it. Average stack was prob like 25k.

Do you mind elaborating a little bit about who was in the game? Not specific names, but I'm curious about who plays. How many professionals? How much scared money? How many rich tourists? Thx

I don't know that there were any tourists or scared money. Sort of a combo of pros and rich guys who live nearby and probably consider Borgata their home casino would be my guess. Most of the table knew each other and I was possibly the only one from out of town but idk
