You stand in line for 10 minutes; I choose not to.

If there are 5 or more people in line, it is usually painful. This is also because the actual transaction can be excruciatingly long. I think they get their cashiers from the same pool as the Taj

Cashing out large is abysmal. The cashier counts it twice (minimum), then the super has to count it (which usually requires someone to find/wake them up), then your ID is scrutinized and recorded with more detail than clearing customs from some 3rd world country. This is all performed at a pace that just seems to make time come to a standstill.

I'm fully aware about proper procedure and regulations. I have no issue with that. Cashing out large at the main casino cage takes 1/3 of the time, max. And, they are much nicer.

If it doesn't bother you, however, that's cool. It's just my opinion. And, I have found a way to deal with it.

What about when there is a major shift change and 12 dealers and 3 drink servers are waiting ahead of you to cash in their chips?

Perhaps this policy of employees cashing in at the same line was changed?

Oh, and before they cash in, some dealers will take the chip rack you stashed behind your seat. That can add another few minutes because you have to find racks.

At the very least, chip racks should be kept at the management podium for employees.

The 10-20 O.E. game is a good game, no doubt about it. The only problem with it is on the weekends. It limits what other games we can spread. If we run the 10-20 O.E. sunday thru Thursday, it shouldn't have any competition and it runs very smoothly. Fridays and Saturdays however, we have an influx of players that want more of a variety.

We have PC 08 players, we have 4-8 H.O.S.E. players, we have 5-10 Omaha players, and we have PC Stud H/L players. So what do we do? Well we can do several things.

1. Put up all of the lists and let the players decide. Does work sometimes but complicates what games are normally run at the Borgata.
2. Limit the 10-20 to Omaha H/L. Let the PC or 4-8 Hose (or combination thereof, O.E., H.O., H.O.E.) be the multi-way game. Offer the 5-10 Omaha H/L to be a feeder game into the 10-20 Omaha.

I am open to suggestions. I do not want players thinking that we will not run Multi-way games. We always will. What we can't do is run all of them at the same time.

Stan
The weekends are different for you but it doesn't have to be that different and it should not be for the players who often give you two tables of OE during the week.

I suggest you continue to let the players in the 10-20 OE game decide which games they are playing and for how long. You could then promote lists for:
> 5-10 omaha with a full kill (hey, you can use PINK chips)
> 7.50-15 holdem
> 4-8 mixed games with half or full kill, decided by starting players

The board could list "4-8 mix" and when players ask you can just say that the starting players will decide the mix and if it is half-kill or full-kill. This procedure has the most credibility because it is decided by the players who are there and putting their money up.

Thank you again for your consideration.

Lines are lines and if they can do something to make the cash out/in process work smoothly they will....

BUT!!!....

That tilts me so hard.

I always stash my rack behind my seat cushion...it fits perfectly. Now, it's easy to find another one when I need to rack up but the fact that they take it from my chair tilts me so freaking hard. If they take it from under the table, cool....but it take some moxxy to straight up jack my chip rack..

You make some real valid points.

>Just leave the 2-way game alone and let those guys decide how they
wanna play.

>There should be a low limit O8 game, and a 5/10 kill game would be good
for the 10/20 game. I could see more casual players playing 5/10 as
opposed to pink chip O8.

> 4/8 'mixed game' is actually a good idea. It lets the players decide on the
games, kill, and when the games change.

BUT...Here's a crazy idea that just might work...
Introduce a 5/10 2-way (or HOE-LHE included for the BBJ chasers) game as a feeder for the 10/20 2-way game.

If the 10/20 2-way regs don't want stud 8 on the weekends, then have a 5/10 2-way game for players that want the stud 8 round. It would essentially eliminate the need for a 5/10 O8, 4-8 HOSE, or a pink chip mixed game.

this is totally LOL, a Chip Rack you stashed? are you serious CC? ITS A ****ING CHIPRACK once chips arent in it, its free for anyone who intends to put chips in it, thus fulfilling all that is the chip rack. While you are sitting down, hoarding chip racks and effectively turning them into objects in the way and potential dangers for your fellow players.

You are a danger to both yourself and others.

Go to the TAJ

Seriously, Imagine Yourself, a floor person, and anyone in the poker room who has chips and attempted to get the rack that was previously in your poss earlier. and you wont give it up.

What on earth would you say in that situation? its just lol.

Bring your passport.
I've got a few Borgata chips at my house. Since you're a winning HS cashplayer, I think it's in your best interest put chips in pocket and head to valet/garage.
You come home and boom, thats real bankroll.
You can't use it. Its a temporarily concrete part of your roll LOLZ.
Go back, chips in hand and Boom.

Just wanted to keep this on the front page for all to see!

I just want everyone to know that tables will be tight on Saturday. Depending on live games, the tournament on Saturday may be limited to 35 tables. While giving 25k in starting chips, very few alternates will make into the tournament. With this said 360 might be the max number for Saturday. Stan,

You won't shut people out on Friday, will you? My train gets in around 10:40 and by the time I Jitney/cab over to the B and check my bags with the bellhop, it may be 11-11:15. I'll get a seat if I wait in line, right?

I had a lot of pit and poker play the past couple of months, so I look forward to when Stan issues the offers for January/February to see if I finally received comped rooms.

For me, I know I would play a lot more at Borgata then I already do now if I only had one weekday comped room a month. I would be able to play until 3AM and then just walk right to my room, instead of leaving at 10PM to head back to Harrah's.

When I have a particularly good win, I rathole a few greens or a black (after I leave the table, not during play) instead of cashing them. When I get home I drop them in a big jar. When the jar gets full, I empty it and cash them in next trip. Then, the wife and I go set the money on fire Last year we funded our Vegas trip from that.

I don't play upstairs that much anymore, though. A few times a year and mostly in Vegas. Mostly 10-20 and/or Pink these days. Hard to accumulate big colors in those games.

Look me up next trip to the Borg and we'll have a few beers

Quick Omaha question. I've played the pink chip O8 game a few times, but I've noticed that sometimes a 10/20 O8 game runs. Is the quality of play generally the same between those two limits?

I prefer the pink chip game, but if my only choice is 10/20, and it is reasonably beatable...

Dude and you must be a dude,

Have you ever noticed that players put their chip racks in the space behind their seat cushion? This is not in the way and makes it very convenient to cash out or to give to other players looking for a rack which I often do.

Yes, it is okay if people slip it from behind your ass but it seems odd especially when dealers and servers should be able to get racks from the management podium or the cashier.

BTW, it isn't always easy to get racks from the cashier windows especially if the line is long and it seems rude to interrupt.

Also, when there is a surplus, I pick up racks from the floor that do seem to be in the way and I usually leave them at floor stations. When I worked as a poker room shift manager and floor-person it was part of our job to tidy up and maintain racks for the players. A few floor-people at the Borgata, like Mike in the high limit room, do this.

Time to solve the rack problem.

There's a window to the side of the cashier cage, like right around the corner to the right if you're facing the cage, with a person in there that will give you a rack if you ask for one. You might have to "interrupt" a security guard handing in BBJ or rake money, but I've been polite and they've never minded me "interrupting" their transaction for literally five to eight seconds to grab a rack.

It's as easy as walking over to that window anytime you need a rack.

This is a good plan and I also want to say I've never had a single bad experience with any of the security guys or gals at the window in the poker room. Every time I've had to get stamped they've been super friendly, quick, and accommodating.
