I always have trouble falling asleep in Water Club rooms, prob because of Humidity and bed frame. Other than the nicer gym, I prefer classic rooms.

I am going to spend 4 nights (january 1st to 5th) with wife & kids (8 & 12) at the Borgata resort. Obv playing poker at night, hence the choice of the resort, and indoor pool + other stuff during day time...

Still undecided regarding Classic vs Water Club. What side is more kids/family friendly ? I understand that most indoor pools at the Water Club are 21+ therefore not really an option as a family.

you can pay your resort fees AND taxes with comps!

at caesars, you dont have resort fees if Diamond or above but you still have state taxes. they will not allow you to pay those with comps. you have to use cash/credit card.

the water club side is 21+only i think for room, but definitely the pool. and during winter its closed tues Wednesday Thursday or something.

rooms are basically same. same hotel just a very slightly different concept.

id go borgata side for kids, easier pool access. there is very little to do in a.c. in winter for kids fwiw.

The Borgata side pool is more kids friendly. Tons of kids there every time I stay on that side.

Water club is more quiet and skew older demographic.

Sweet Jesus these 2/5 games have been attrocious this seems like a market where the 1k cap on it hurt to have hurt the game more than help.

Large player pool. Consistently multiple games going. Deep stacked with plenty of weak players. Borgata 2/5 is probably the best 2/5 in the northeast.

"Attrocious" compared to what?

I've played at almost every spot within 500 miles and some of the other casinos might have an occasional better game, but that game either rarely runs or dies quickly. For example, last time I was at Sugarhouse, we tried 3 times to get a second table of 2/5 started and failed every time. DCMGM is great for a few hours on Fri and Saturday but games die quick and it's a lot of euro pros left over rest of the time/week.

And don't forget the rake. $5/half, no flop/no drop is basically the lowest rake anywhere. Even if a game is a little better elsewhere, it probably is not enough better to overcome the much higher rake. The table gets bled dry at places like Sugarhouse and Encore.

So yeah, what are you comparing Borgata to?

The biggest benefit of my Platinum card is to use it for signup promos at other casinos, like the recent $500 freeplay at Encore. Otherwise, most of the benefits are based on your play, not on the color of your card. I had better room offers when I was playing 1/2 on the basic Blue card than I have now on my Platinum.

Hey somewhat related: Does anyone know how much slot coin-in you need to get a gold card back, starting from 0? (75K points) Asking for a friend...

I thought I read somewhere that any tier points after reaching # to maintain card status roll over, but my account reset to 0 tier points. Was I mistaken?

I think it's 1 EC per $100 bet at slots ($200 at VP). That's what I found when trying to figure it out for VP a couple years ago. 75 TCs per EC, 75k would be $100k bet. There's also something about a minimum EC earn to get any, maybe 3 or 5. Unclear whether you get TCs without clearing that.

It was a specific offer to some, not to all. (Not to me, either.)

I hit about 92k and the run over did not carry over, sadly, so it must need to be offered to you. Probably for people who had already gotten the status earned before September.

That would make sense if true. Otherwise people who have already wrapped up their card have less incentive to go before Oct (why play if the TCs are just wasted mentality).

Multiple unknown factors at work.

I cleared 25k for another year of Pearl at the end of July, but still didn't get an offer to roll over my August/September excess. I thought maybe it was just for higher tiers, but clearly even that wasn't it.

Maybe they're doing some A/B testing to see whether such an offer increases play compared to the control group.

I think I remember now. The people who did not reach their current years card status yet were given some multiplier to make it easy to reach current status for next year. The people who already reached it when that email went out were told their additional points will carry over.

Unless you are rated in house games I don’t think you have a chance.

Can you expand on this $500 free play at Encore?

It was a promo they ran in August where they gave X amount of slot play if you had a tier card from another regional casino. If you had MLife PLatinum they gave $500 (which was the top amount).

Anyone have the weekend of the 15th/16th comped? For some reason, I have basically every other weekend day comped but that weekend, and was wondering why.
