I imagine "dead" for Christmas would mean only a handful of games to choose from for 1/2 and 2/5. If you're looking for 10/20 and up LHE, or other games that tend to go and thrive only when their player base is present, then it might actually be dead.

They can be pretty stingy (CET), even if you put in double that, so be careful. You might be better off going to the Tropicana where you can almost definitely get a room.

Can anyone speak more to this? I was planning on making my first trip to AC in January (mid-week) and was planning on relying on the 4 hour promo that the Caesars properties have listed on Bravo. Where will it be easier to get a comped room?

Call the poker rooms on the day you want to stay to check availability for that day.

So, funny story, I was playing $200/hand BJ last time I was there for about an hour (not normal, but YOLO, right?) and I couldn't find my card so I gave the floor my ID to make a new one. I'm Pearl, but they made me a gold card. I told them, right away, no way this is right to which the dealer replied "they don't make mistakes". However, in my account online, I am still very much Pearl.

The plan is to take my "gold card" to Harrah's, match up to diamond, and then take it back to the Borg for status match up to gold. I was gonna hit it anyways, this year, but I definitely want it now if I can get it.

My guess is if 9 of my friends and I all sign up for the same STT at the same time, when they have a dealer available, they start the tourney up and we can have a private tourney, is that accurate?

Almost nonstop. Quality is always good during any open for cash games. Steamed people who just busted the tournament and people who cash a tournament and take a shot at a game they're not used to.

Platinum Card, what is it good for? (Absolutely nothing.)

Last year I pushed early to get to Gold so that I can use Gold benefits. Towards the end of the status year I saw that I was getting close to Platinum, so I made a big push to get it. I've had Platinum ~6 months now and the benefits are nearly non-existent for poker players:

- One can skip the line at the Buffet, but not at Amphora Lounge.
- Room offers have not changed much at all... One time I was upgraded to Vista room at Water Club and one time I was upgraded to Fiore suite at Borg. That's about it.

I was hoping for more room upgrades or some interesting promos. Nothing. Not even a slot dollar promo.

The biggest benefit seems to be that I can match my card to more casinos. So the biggest benefit I got out of Platinum is matching it to Hard Rock, Ocean, and Harrahs. (Anything else worth matching?)

I'm writing this in case anyone else is curious about going for this card.
