I've played enough at Borgata to get Platinum card through poker alone. I often play late into the night. I have never seen an actual fight in this room. Occasionally I see people verbally screaming at each other, and a handful of times I've seen people girly push each other. But never an actual physical fight.

Not sure what "fight night" and "got into it" means. But overall, this is one of the most orderly poker rooms I've ever been to in the North East.

As procedure, they insta-send a lot of security because their presence diffuses situations pretty quickly. People realize that they're not on a random street.

We have 15-20 people wearing patches around Borgata, anyone who's playing a lot of cash or here for the series like to wear one too? We started 8 years ago on 2+2, can search us or find on social media. We're putting on a local Winter Wonderland event in Atlantic City this year again.

Small chance we might be doing a MTT at Borgata too, we'll see.

I don't think the guys over by 9 actually made contact. The instigator's interest cooled when the other guy took him up on it.

The other, there were easily a dozen people in between table 3 and the cage. They may not have gotten too much past yelling, but there were a lot of them in a small space.

Though yeah, I won't dispute that it's generally orderly, especially given the volume of people packed together in sometimes tense situations. (And the dickier-than-average quality of many poker players.)

About ten years ago, the best
Fights in Atlantic City were in the
Taj poker room on the graveyard
Shift. The floor never had the courage
To stop the fights.
(It was impossible to get a shift manager
To cut somebody off
Who had way too much to drink,
and there wasn't
Anything a cocktail waitress wouldn't
Bring you for a red bird. Though to
Be honest, the only one with the
Courage to stop a fight I saw, was
A cocktail waitress.)
At the Borgata
There is always a quick response
From security. At #TheOceanAC
I've noticed excellent communication
Between the supervisors and the
Young cocktail waitresses. Even so
My game broke down at 4 AM
Thursday night
@theoceanAC due to a fight
Between two drunk players.

Hey guys! It's been 5+ years since I've played poker consistently, but my wife and I are going to visit AC in 10 days (Dec 2nd). Is the Borgata still the best place to play? The softest games? Is it worth it to play on a monday-thursday, or are the decent games basically friday-sunday?

Any tips? Back when I used to go to Rutgers College 2 hours away my friends and I used to come down, and we used to do really well, but that was a long time ago. The last game I sat down at was a casino in Seattle and everyone knew how to bet for maximum value and almost every spot was a tough spot. People we're a lot trickier and trappier and larger % would play strictly premium hands making for an overall tight game. Is it like this in the Borgata & Atlantic City nowadays?

Any general tips of how I should approach these games and which strategy I should employ to maximize success? Thanks so much!!

Borgata room always has the largest numbers of tables and varety of game types \ limits avaiable in a.c.

For low limits, it really doesnt matter as any given table can be great or crappy in any casino at any time. In theory having higher limits running should keep the best players out of the lower limits...

You cant go wrong with tight abc poker, but of course lagging it up with some gambool could make for a livelier higher variance table.

For the wife, dinning and entertainment options at borgata are as good as anywhere....i recommend Bobby Flays...

Can we still see our power ranking on the mlife site under our reservation? I used to be able to see it, but lost it recently. Anyone notice?

Funny story from Saturday night...

Around 2am or so, guy sits down next to me with a couple empty racks, to pick up the $1300 or so sitting there. 20something white guy, no similarity to the middle-aged black guy playing that seat except they're both skinny. He picks up the first stack, I look at him and say "not your chips." He jumps up, "Oh, wait, this isn't my table. Where was I sitting?" Honest (certainly very drunk) mistake, it seems. He had been playing 2/5, and our 1/2 looked like a 2/5 from the stacks on the table. He goes off to the floor, the back desk, another floor, they try to figure out where his real chips are.

A while later the floor was around and I asked if they ever figured it out. She said yes, he had left his table busto!

How'd the trip go for you? Was the action at the 1/2 table good? Thanks for the story!

A newbie question:
I've been playing more hours recently at Borgata and am now getting some comped rooms but not for every night (of course). I was wondering whether I might get some better offers if I spoke to a human or got access to a casino "host" (if that's the term).
I'm only playing 2/5 so I'm hardly a whale.... but I welcome some advice.

Thanks!

Speaking to a human won't help, only playing more will. Offers are based on how much play you average per day. The "day" starts at 6am and goes to 5:59am. You need to average at least 15 express comps per day to get better offers. 2/5 is $2EC/hr. Average over 8 hrs per day, and you will see your offers improve.

I normally play 1/2, which is $1.5EC/hr, and I try my best to get over 15 hrs every time I swipe my card in on a given day. I get free weekends, sporadic concert tickets, $50 match play, $20 slot dollars, and 1 free buffet for 2 people each month. I was there for nights this week and racked up $42EC, or $21/day.

If you're not going to earn $15EC in a day, you're better off not swiping your card at all while you're there.

Thanks for the info! Not sure the next time I'll be down but I'll give this a shot. How many days would you have to pull this off before you get the first offer? I've played a bunch of hours at Borgata but I know my daily average would be well below that.

If you haven't played much, you won't need to play much to turn it around. Also, getting the MLife credit card helps, too.

Hi, how did you get all these? Do you play anything else besides poker? I basically do the same as you in poker, and I get comp rooms any day, but never seen concert tickets, match play, $20 slot dollars, or free buffet. Thanks.

I play a little BJ on the side, but not much. Every now and then I'll burn $20 on Wheel of Fortune. I try to stay above 15hrs of 1/2 every time I clock in so playing extreme amounts helps. I also play some 10/20 on the weekends.

The match play and concert tickets prob comes from pit games. I used to get them when I played BJ but it dried up after I stopped.

You still get some discounts and comps while earning <15 EC per day (10 hrs 1/2, 7.5 hrs in $5/hhh time rake like 2/5NL, 10/20L, 5hrs in $7/hh games like 20/40L) so its still worth if you are going to play for a while even if not to the full daily hours needed as you will also get the comp dollars which you can use for the room resort fees/taxes ($22/day)

Yeah, I have two visits' points that haven't turned up yet. Gonna make it three tomorrow. The last change I noted in my TC total was 11/12, and I played 11/24 and 12/1.

It's been a while since they were this slow, but as long as the correct number of ECs show up, it seems that we can have faith the TCs will follow eventually.
