poker will not get you much in l.v. no comps to speak of. the only reason we get anything is lack of demand for the 2800 rooms/ they know they have a good foothold on the poker business which has some outside value. word on street is mgm would like to tone it back in the poker freebies. well see..

And looks like sports betting by weekend buckle up♤♡◇♧

Is the rumor that Borgata will cut back on free rooms, or that MGM in general is looking to cut back on poker comps?

I wonder what the real impact would be on the Borgata poker room if they cut back on weekend rooms comped. I'm 2.5 hours away. I simply would not go if I don't get the rooms comped. Parx regularly gets more tables (according to Bravo) during the week, and sometimes on the weekend. I would simply go and play there for the day when I feel like playing... I don't know. I've enjoyed borgata the last few years, but if they make it harder...I'll just go in another direction.

there were always rumors since before MGM took over

so far I personally haven't seen changes for the worse, but who knows what's going to happen in the future we're not exactly dealing with exceptionally gifted problem solvers here

whoever decided to not accept call-ins anymore should do everyone a favor and remove himself from the room

Whoops, posted this in the AC thread not realizing there was a Borgata thread, have some questions:

A few questions about staying at the Borgata:

1) Is there any parking charge for guests? Any way to mitigate or eliminate such charges?
2) What kind of poker rate is available? Specifically is there any kind of rate related to the Summer Poker Open coming up?
3) Can you apply comps accrued by playing poker to a hotel stay? 1:1?
4) What kinds of mixed cash games other than stud hi are likely to be running at mid to higher stakes?
5) Can anyone confirm that wifi is now available in all rooms as part of the resort fee? Did they previously just not have a resort fee or something? I remember you had to either pay for wireless specifically or go down to the lobby.

A couple things about me: I haven't played there in a couple years and have only ever played poker there (no pits).

1 five dollars, although if you check your account online, you might see that parking in the parking deck is no charge.

2. Summer poker open rates should be announced soon. Of course, you could call reservations for more information about this.
3. Yes, yes.
4.
$10 - $20 BIG O H/L
$10 - $20 HOLDEM
$10 - $25 PLO - 9
$20 - $40 7STUD
$20 - $40 HOLDEM
$80 - $160 HOLDEM - 9
$100 - $200 MIXED - 8
And probably others.

5. Yes, yes.

borgata was quoted to be ready day one. I can't recall where i read it though. hopefully that's case. I wanted to watch gsm e one of world cup there.

as for those questions. the parking n rooms will be free with a few sessions of play, the rooms are extensively discussed in thread.

as for mix wsop slows it down, and idk what mid to high stakes means to you but some form of limited multiple limited wagering games runs on weekends. usually 80-160Tuesday, and Thursday as well.

As someone who isnt getting comped weekends (maybe come september!), I agree with the general sentiment, but I do think that Borg has some favoring factors that counteract some of the costs.

rake is $4+1 instead of $5+2 or $6+1 for most further away places, and its a $5/hh time rake for 2/5 is a massive rake difference there. I would guess with a reasonable weekend rate, split with a few friends, Id somewhat easily pay for my room with just the rake difference.

Of course it wouldnt pay for the 4 hr ride each way, but the free alcohol savings and fun of a vacation will cover that. Plus, its 20 M each way to my local casino, and I get about 4 local trips worth of poker out of one weekend trip to the borg so its a bit less of a time cost than youd think.

Most people dont go on vacation for free, so from the perspective that at least sometimes ive enjoyed it as a vacation spot and ive been going, although that particular allure will wear the more I go and lose some value to me.

a few days ago I was sure the governor was preparing to take on Mitt Romney in the 2020 presidential election...but this article makes it look like he's a Public Relations assistant at the Borgata Hotel ==>

You want to go out with some buddies and make the most of it, spend the weekend, bet on some games, maybe play [at the Borgata poker] tables, have dinner [with the wifey at Bobby Flay's or at The Old Homestead Steak House,] buy a bottle of wine, see a show [at the Borgata Comedy Club...]

Does anyone know if using your mlife card to clock in Vegas is kept separate from your play at the Borgata? I have great comps at the Borgata right now and I don't want a 3hr session messing everything up.

So i was in my MGM resorts itinerary and saw my room i booked directly thru the borgata site, and it says a “power rank”. Maybe an internal number that basically defines your value to borgata?

Dunno. I have a comped Water Club reservation for Saturday of the same weekend and it says Power Rank 6. (Pearl card)

My guess is that if it was something really deep and significant, it wouldn't be right out there on the site. "Mlife power rank" doesn't google well...maybe it's something new.

My sense is that the poker system at Borgata determines room comps from playing poker, and it doesn't play nicely with anything else. But, like playing slots or pit games at Borgata, who knows how how that mixes in when it gets to the wider Mlife system. It seems a safe guess that at least Borgata's poker system isn't going to know about it if you log a few hours on a Vegas poker system.

I assume it's a glitch and it shows your Borgata's tier (actually not sure whether they want to keep it secret from players or not). There are 16 tiers in total

I think its a glitch as described, that makes sense on the 16 tiers but im guessing power rank 16 is lowest and 1 is highest since the guy with power rank 6 has the comped water club.

I have power rank 6 and most weekends comped. I typically earn 15-20 comp$/day from poker, no pit games.

It has to be a glitch. I don't know of a single casino that doesn't try to keep these internal rankings hidden from players.

1) book a hotel room thru theborgata.com
2) log into mgmresorts.com
3) click on your name
4) click “itinerary”

At least for me, it listed my power ranking.

Thanks for the trick upstairs. It works for me.

I am Power Rank 10, and my wife is Power Rank 4. She plays 2-5, average 12+ hours/day in Borgata and she gets any date of the year.

Is July 4th going to be packed at Borgata? Given this year it’s on a Wednesday and everything.
