I get 2 comp nights per week. When does the week start/reset?

If the week is Sunday to Saturday, can I book Fri and Sat for first week and then book Sunday that would count for second week? Basically three days in a row.

Possible?

The week does start on Sunday. However if you book Friday and Saturday then your two comped nights for the following week will begin Monday instead of Sunday (at least on the online booking calendar), as you cannot get 3 comped nights in a row without talking to a host.

Because SI.com is foul...

Quote:
The Borgata in Atlantic City announced construction last November on a $7 million sportsbook at the casino. Borgata, owned by MGM Resorts, said in an statement to SI: “We support efforts to bring this activity out of the shadows and provide consumers and sports leagues with the protections associated with proper regulations.”

Any ideas where they're building it? There's no construction in progress, is there?

I think we're going to be fine this year.

I'm curious what will happen in the next fiscal year - due to increase in chargeback for comp rooms the poker room will be 8 figures in the red on paper.

If they stop giving me rooms off to Parx I go. Games are probably better there anyway.

Hope so but Senate President Sweeney announced that anyone opening a sports book before the state puts regs in place will be banned. Guess the legislators need time to figure out where the new pockets are.

I have an empty pocket for them...😂 I bet they move a bunch of the slots in front of the poker room and put the sports book there.

Havent played on east coast for years. Living in philly now so want to start making trips. How hard will it be to start getting eoom comps again playing 2/5? How frequent/hours would i need to put in? How about to get low traffic weekend comps occasionally?

I understand peeps prob dont know exactly just wondering if there are other weekend warriors out there getting good comps.

If you average 10 hrs a day over the weekend at 2/5 you'll get any day you want

Starting the next week? I wont be going every week. Basically the goal is to simply get free weekends for the boys to party during. So wondering if this is something i could easily get making a few weekend trips to grind or if i would need to be making multiple trips a month for a few months to start seeing anything(and then keep doing that to keep it)

Not trying to find a grind spot, I can literally walk to sugarhouse.

not sure how long it takes to establish adt. I imagine you'll start seeing some free weekends after a couple of solid trips

I play 11-12 hours of 1/2 once or twice (more often twice) a month. The only time I've really seen a blip in my offers since I've been doing that was when I missed an entire calendar month (and it came right back).

It's been long enough that I don't remember how long it took after I started the 10+ hour effort to switch over from Sun–Thur to any day. But it's not frequency that it looks for. You don't have to be there all the time, just get in a handful of good solid days. Don't play short days, don't play past 6am, never feed him after midnight, all that. And it'll be helpful if you come back and share your results.

I don't play close to 10 hours a day but get almost every Friday and sat comped
I play 2/5+ plo and 5/10 + nl

It does appear that now I can only have 8 days booked comped at once when before it was ten

$15 in comps is the target, so at $2 and $3 games you won't need ten hours.

Though if I were trying to get things rolling at 2/5NL I'd probably overdo it to start, to negate any previous short days and have a little breathing room. I usually aim for 12 hours at 1/2NL, so then if I'm a little shorter once in a while (friends come along so I want a dinner break, I don't feel like getting to know a new table at 5am, etc.) it's nothing to worry about.

So I tested the 7.5 hours of 2/5+ theory, and it worked(ish). I sat in my harrahs hotel bored on thursday night and then did:

Fri 9 hr 12 m of 2/5+ 1 hr 10m of 1/2 (effectively 52 mins of 2/5+)
Sat 8 hr 37 m of 2/5+
Sun 3 hr 51m of 2/5+

So 22hr 32m in 3 days, average of pretty much exactly 7.5 hrs/day. I guess I couldve gotten better comps if i hadnt come back sunday but whatever.

I also did probably 4-5 hours of degen.

Getting most S-R comped, fri/sat are still kinda gross most dates but improving at least.

Got a hotel booked for that one decent weekend on august 10-11, so hopefully I can keep it rolling from here.

Anyone got a theory on if Thursday will count if I am booked in the hotel that night? I wont get there till late Thursday night, but will avoid playing if Thurs wont count as a day unless I go down to the casino floor.

Short hours on Sunday definitely drag it down, especially since you have previous shorter days on record. The averaging goes back three months, at least.

Most here will say yes, but I'm not so convinced. The poker system is its own animal, and I'm not sure it knows you're there if you don't swipe in at a poker table. My guess is that the larger system would be offended if you check in Thursday and out Friday, and don't play (or maybe at least charge a lot of expenses to the room) at all either day. If you check in, play all night and check out the next morning, the check-out day doesn't hurt you.

Although I don't recall noticing any ill effect the time I got a room but gave all my play that night to Revel (to get a later comped room there, since I didn't yet have Borgata weekends).

Remember your room is held until 9pm, so if you're getting there later, call and let them know.
