I heard this rule has changed back to "last aggressor." They have a memo on it at the podium in high limit.

Regarding the rule change, it has not officially changed but is in the process of changing. They circulated an internal memo alerting the poker room employees that the rule "will" be changing. However, their internal process and paperwork required supposedly takes about a week for it to be official. I agree there was a lot of confusion over the weekend as some dealers and floor people thought the rule was changed and others hadn't heard about it.

i have been playing at the borgata since it opened and i always thought that was the rule. i thought that was the rule everywhere. i always just assumed people that said "last aggressor" didn't know the rules. joke was on me i guess!

Is anyone at the Borg, do you know if they are accepting sports betting?

It's a long way off my friend. November at the earliest provided the Feds don't slam an injunction to stop it.

It may be a long way off at the Borgata, but I'm pretty confident someone in NJ will be offering action on Week 2 in the NFL.

It will be the same guy you have been going to the past 10 yrs. Google sports betting in NJ. It won't be until the the end of the year. At least we'll be able to bet on the NFL playoffs.... Maybe. Oh, and probably not any NJ teams, pro or college.

As per the blind raising from out of position blind pre-flop, which ever dealer and floor had a problem with this, I would immediately write up a report, as they should not be working there or need to know the rule. This is the rule:
A blind raise out of position remains active as long as the action does not change, therefore when somebody raised before him (stupidest thing I have heard) the blind raiser can now fold, raise or call, his blind raise is no longer valid, however if no action changes, his blind raise stays, also a verbal raise before the cards are dealt would not count as a raise, since nobody can force anybody to put chips in the middle, i.e the new rule that you must put chips in the middle when you call an all in bet.

I imagine there's something in the rules about intentionally acting out of turn.

Question now is are they going to:

1) Add the sportsbook to the now existing racebook, or,

2) Expand the room the racebook is currently in back into the pokerroom to create space to add the sportsbook (probably), or,

3) put the sportsbook somewhere else (highly unlikely), or,

4) Maffia rubs out Christie for legalizing sportsbetting, global warming causes ocean to rise submerging Borgata, and we are all forced to play poker on a riverboat somewhere in New Jersey (possible)

ok.........Discuss!

Urgent, don't have time to type much but wanted to get this out as quickly as possible: A friend of mine had a significant amount of $ stolen from his hotel room at the Borgata this afternoon. Secure your valuables ASAP and don't trust hotel staff here to not go through your ****.

There's a lot of empty space in front of the poker room and race book, those slots can be compacted into less than half the space. Or they can be put some where else on the borgata floor. But I don't think they will use the signature room, or cut into the poker room or the race book.

BTW, heard on the radio today that monmouth park racetrack may start as soon as Sunday!!!

I believe those are "simulated" bets - IOW, play money.

I doubt anyone leaves it sitting out... I'm sure lots of people put some in the in-room safe though.

Yep, or other valuables like tablets or phones left charging in the room, I regular lock them up when I leave the room, I think the in room safe is safe, just lock things up and you will be ok, just keep the big chips with you.

Depending on the future of casinos in North Jersey and New York, a smaller poker room might be a possibility as I do not think they will take out slot machines even though the ones near the waterclub parking lot are rarely used anyway, but they did just put in new slot machines there and had a slot tournament there on Sunday and Monday so count out taking out those slots. As well I do not think they will do too much construction so expect the poker room and sportsbook area to remain the same size unless it becomes popular then maybe they might have 2 sportsbooks sites.

I could see them taking a couple approaches if they want a sportsbook. They could open up the area between the horse betting area and poker room bathrooms. They could revamp the "Board Room" and area to the right of it in the poker room. The could put it over by the Signature room. But honestly it all seems to be a big if still. Will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

Does this surprise you?

They aren't going to invest any money into this until a court says it's OK.

Whomever posted little while back on this thread about showing your black card at the racebook to get a free program, and in turn get 2 free "premium" drink vouchers so I can get Redbull for free at the bar in the racebook Thank you. Did it Sunday, and tonight. Any perks to the black card I've earned I'm all in for.

How much did you have to bet at racebook to get that?
