And the way things are going in Nevada, the casinos will probably all be shut down again. It seems that many people are just ignoring the rules and the casinos aren't doing a great job enforcing them.

Very true, however, I would attribute that much more to the lack of mandating masks up until very recently.

Whale of a lawsuit: Borgata says Ocean Casino is raiding its marketing execs, including those with priceless details on Borgata's biggest and best customers, who drop $1.5M to $4M PER VISIT. https://t.co/EFZBsPzPpE https://t.co/hkV8smvAZVD
15 years ago, the Borgata
raided everyone from the Taj. But
the food at Ocean sucks and they
Can't do anything right, so Ocean
Won't be able to keep
Any of the customers for more
Than one visit. Most won't go
even once, the word is out how
Terrible Ocean is.

I just want to let you know how happy seeing that you wrote something in this thread made me.

I was there last week and seeing the empty poker room broke my heart. I've been hearing conflicting rumors of when they may be thinking about reopening the room. Heard absolutely nothing for so long, I am taking any chatter of reopening as a good sign.

Miss you guys

Wow...I would have thought they'd box it off to avoid that effect. Bad enough for poker players, but big empty spaces have to be a drag on the general mood.

I'm considering going for a night or two after Labor Day. Not much to do there, but there's not much to do at home either. Doing it somewhere else for a change might be nice.

The tables are there, but no chairs. Oddly empty.

Yeah, I've been down twice since AC reopened. I was there last week, stayed at Bally's since it's kind of dead over near the Marina and a lot more going on near the Boardwalk and I had a comped room there. Bally's is pretty outdated, but the location is great, and I spent the majority of my time on the beach with another 2p2'er and his wife. Got White House subs every day, which are amazing, and sat on the beach all day drinking beers. I can't believe in my 15+ years of going to AC, I never went to White House... so good.

I'm actually going back on Labor Day weekend with 3 friends and my wife because the room rates are so cheap. I was able to get Friday/Sunday comped and only had to pay $129 @ the Borgata for Saturday. I was also able to book a 2nd room at Bally's for $109 on Saturday, and the rest of the trip is free. Never seen such cheap rates on Labor Day. Normally Friday, Saturday and Sunday are all $350+/nt. I guess, thanks, Rona?

They'll have indoor dining back soon, and things will feel more normal. I think we should have poker back, somewhere, before the end of the year. AC is normally a ghost town in fall and winter, so it's gonna be even worse this year. They're gonna need us.

I tracked her down on Twitter, and, I would not be shocked if she's right.

I booked every weekend in October on the chance that she's right. I hope she is

Unassembled plexiglass dividers spotted in the poker room.

That's a great sign

Pretty sure it's been remodeled/shrunk since its heyday. I haven't been there in years, but it's where I first played. Pre-Borgata, the Harrah's casinos weren't putting in a big poker effort (all four together probably had slightly more tables than Trop). Trop maybe had 30ish tables, but it was the second biggest in town and at peak times it was full. Before Borgata opened (and expanded upstairs), only the Taj room was at all large.

BB (Before Borgata), taj had a great room and trop had a smaller but good room. To my knowledge,, Trop was home to the original pink game (7.5/15) that was spectacular action. I miss those days.

Longer ago than the Trop thread on here goes back. I want to say maybe 2007ish, but even then I hadn't been back in several years so I'm hazy on the details. The general AC thread started even later, so no help there. I think it was already fading when the Borgata room moved upstairs. They'd had changes of ownership and bankruptcy (-ies?) around that time, too.

That's not true, the poker room was moved next to Boogie Nights in the last 5 years.

Yep. I played it there, never saw it anywhere else before.

Done some digging around today and I have it from a few good sources Borgata is asking for and waiting on approval for 8 handed games with plexiglass. They are targeting somewhere from late September to the first half of October. Fingers crossed what I'm hearing it right.

Yes, let's get the discussion back to Borgata. We have an Atlantic City thread if you want to discuss other area casinos.

Those pictures of the plexiglass you are seeing ARE for the poker room as the blackjack tables already have their plexiglass in place. I've also heard October 1st as well for poker to return. So let's keep our fingers crossed and we'll see what happens!

The tables that are in front of the poker room, and the tables that line the walk way towards Bread and Butter don't, though. I suspect that's what they're for. I am in a AC FB group, and one of the mods there is the one who said they're for BJ. She is very well connected, and I have no reason to doubt her.

That being said, with everything I'm hearing otherwise, I think we are looking at the room reopening within the next 30-40 days depending on approval from the state and AC regulatory bodies. I am hopeful for the first time in a long time.

Ooops! Forgot all about those tables. Damn, that would be a bummer if that's what the plexi is for. I would have to say your source is better than mine! Maybe yours will have a better update on poker soon.

I am pretty hopeful things will start to develop soon. It would suck to be wrong, but I could be, who knows. Just going from hearing absolutely nothing all summer to now hearing a bunch of buzz and rumors, it seems like there may be smoke where there is fire, so to speak.

The Facebook group is "Everything AC" if anyone is interested. While the people in the group can be kind of annoying sometimes, and it's a lot of slots players bragging about their hand pays, there are some good nuggets of info in there from time to time. I also check Twitter everyday to see if anyone has said anything.
