is 10-25 normally the biggest No limit holdem game? how often would something bigger get up

10/25 is uncapped so the game plays a bit bigger than the blinds indicate, especially when people start straddling

Been playing down here last couple days during the Open and the 5/10 + PLO games have been really good. The addition of sports books in AC is also really a nice plus.

Hi all,

I am visiting Borgata President's Day weekend and could use a cheap place to stay for three nights (likely with a friend). My main casino is MGMNH, but I doubt my poker comps from there matter...?

Any suggestions? PM me. Thanks!

Are express comps or points toward tier status earned from sportsbook action? If so, whats the formula?

there is some conveluted process to convert them to "borgata" points... they arent getting you free rooms but maybe off set poker rate($100ish) it doesnt take much to get free rooms in borgata but not on your first time.

Absolutely.

Since so much of it has been going to the high hand, the BBJ has grown slowly and not gotten very big. So it's not actually so much of a change.

Though I don't love the lack of transparency it brings. Most of each of those BBJ dollars now goes somewhere we can't see it, rather than to a posted number creeping upward. Of course there's nothing (too) nefarious happening, I'm just not thrilled with it all going out of sight.

Not many people care about BBJ now with all the new events happening. Besides, I actually kinda like these new ones (royal flush bounties, high hand, random drawings). They consistently bring people to the poker room.

Interesting that you mention this. Players at another casino in this region recently found out that tournament guarantee shortfalls are being funded with their BBJ money, not by the casino.

Guess what casino? MGM National Harbor.

I wonder if Borgata uses BBJ funds to meet guarantee shortfalls...

Whelp, that’s shady as hell. Especially when tourney players don’t even contribute to the BBJ. How did they find out? How do we check if Borgata does this?

nj is supposed to give all money directly back to players. almost every other state has mich more lattitude to do shady things like that. be it giveaways, paying employees, shortchanging tournys....

Does Borgata even have guarantee shortfalls? I'd think the guarantees are set so they don't.

NJ law says "The funds extracted from pot contributions may be used by the casino licensee for other types of poker bonus payouts, so long as all funds extracted from any pot are awarded to poker players."

Even if they were inclined to shadiness (and again, I don't really think they are), calling making up a guarantee a "poker bonus payout" would really be a stretch.

And yeah, the BBJ hasn't really been a draw except when it got big, which it hasn't for quite a while. All the promos coming out of the fund are definitely a more consistent draw.
