Hey all, could anyone throw some guesses out as to how many people the regular tournaments at the Borgata get at different times of year?

Also, I tried to find info on the prize structures, but nothing came up.

Thanks for all the help

I can tell you how many people were in some of the tournaments last week, but last week was the week of the deep stack tournament, so numbers might be a bit off from how many you can expect on a regular week:

Wednesday $30k guaranteed ($100 + $20) @ 11am: 378 entrants, first prize about $11k, 36 places pay.

Thursday $100 + $20 tournament @ 7PM: I believe it was around 190 entrants, can't give you pay out numbers as I busted early and didn't look at the board for the info, but at that number of entrants 18 places would pay.

Friday $300 + $40 50k guaranteed @ Noon: 197 entrants, first place was around $20k I believe, 18 places pay.

I was there last weekend and it was unusually slow. Recession much?

I'm not sur what the maximum is but i know that as you go up in limits the more you get per hour.

To the best of my knowledge:
1/2 NL is 1$/h
2/5 NL is 2$/h

2/4 and 3/6 is either .50 or 1$/hr

5/10 limit is 1$/h

10/20 and 20/40 limit is 2$/h

30/60 is $3/h. I wasn't sure about this but it was confirmed last weekend.

If you guys didn't know this, when you clock out ask the person who clocks you out how much you earned, it says on their screen how much time you played and how much in comps you earned, with a little math you can figure it out.

I was always curious what i got for 30/60 stud so when i clocked out last weekend I asked what my stats were and the woman said I played for a little more than 6 hours and earned a little more than $18.

I do not know what 40/80 or 5/10 nl and higher are as i don't play that high. Just ask when you clock out how much time and what you earned.

Depends on what game you play. Wife and I are there every weekend and put in a lot of hours on the weekend. She is there doing the week sometimes as well.

If you play 10/20 or 20/40 LHE or 10/20 OE or 30/60 stud then there is a good chance you have played with one of us.

If you are a NL player then probably not.

I was told that borgata just cut their comps down 50% meaning 50cents for 1/2 and $1 for 2/5 an hour. Any confirmation?

I think they felt they could get away with it after the Harrah's properties all did the same thing. Recessions suck!

Harrah's didn't change their comps. $1hr for 1/2, $2hr for 2/5.

So im headed down to Borgata this Friday or Saturday night and was trying to get some opinions on how the 2/5NL game is on a Friday/Saturday night. I am assuming its a lot more tourist and casual players as opposed to the regs during the week who know what their doing. Although I'm sure for every fish there will be a shark close behind. Let me know your guys opinions and any advice you may have on mixing up my play this weekend, (which styles LAG, TAG) you think works best sitting 2/5NL at the Borgata on a Friday/Saturday night. Thanks any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. GL at the tables...

Bunch of guido's from the city that think they are to good for 1/2NL but are not rolled for or are intimidated by 5/10 NL.

TAG will probably work well becuase 6-7 of the remaining 9 are going to be uber LAG.

wish they had a regular 2/5 PLO game going. It is the game of the future people! get it through your heads! A couple wkends ago when I was there they strangely only had a 5/10 PLO going.

i waited longer for a 5/10NL seat on a sunday than EVER (about 2 hours). Finally I just grabbed a seat at the 10/20NL which had just started. Bought in for the min $1k and my 3rd hand I get 66 in EP raise to $80 and get repopped to $350 by this african guy who had about $6000. i just folded and he showed AJo. Nice. so that's how its going to be huh.

So this other old man sits down and buys in for $5k. The african guy says "Hey how come when i bought in they asked me for my ID and you didn't ask him!" I am like oh snap we are going to have a problem here. Luckily the floor says "you bought in for more than $5k that's why. He is buying in for $5k exactly." it diffused the situation but i left thereafter.

As a side note there was an asian guy wearing rubber surgical gloves. I agree that there is nothing that makes your hands dirtier than playing with poker chips (that does not stop me from grabbing a hot slice of pizza even though i'm mostly a germaphobe BTW) but the Borgata is cleaner than most. I thought that he'd need a pair of pliers to touch the Taj chips.

How is that possible? Isn't $5k the max for the 10/20nl game?

Most of the borg "regulars" that actually play well on here.

Except me, I play bad... I just run so well that I still profit.

Come try to steal my cheese tomorrow at the 10-20LHE table.
But don't say I didn't warn you that I run well.

When did Harrah's cut their comps? I was just at Caesar's last saturday, and I appeared to be getting $1 for the hours I played $1/$2, and $2 for the hours I played $2/$5...

AFAIK yes.

10/25 is the first uncapped game...again AFAIK.

It also seems odd that someone already has 6k if the game just started.
