Has the max buy-in been raised for 1-2? If so, has there been any noticeable differences in the games because of this?

Apparently a lot of people complained about raising the max buy in for 1/2 to $500. I don't understand why but whatever. So that's off the table now.
I was also told that they are considering adding a 1/3 game with higher buy in, maybe $200/$500.

Raising the buyin would’ve brought the low end 2/5 players into the 1/2 game and the end result would be both games would be tougher.

raise the 2/5 plo minumum
if people want to sit there with 300 dollars wasting space while watching movies let them go play 1/2 plo.

Lol low end 2/5 players don't make smaller games tougher. They belong at those stakes skill wise to begin with

Isn’t that the point? How is it good for either game to incentivize them to move down?

10-20 T.B. does stand for "triple blind" as a prior poster guessed. The two blinds listed are the larger blinds so this is a 5-10-20 triple blind game. It sometimes runs on the weekends.

Is anyone else having difficulties retaining you gold MGM card (old black card),
75,000 tier points seems hard to get. What will MGM do with all the old black card holders in September 2018 when the gold cards expire?

75000 TCs for Gold is 1000 Express Comps (comp dollars), same as Black used to be. Poker comp rates haven't changed, so the same amount of play will get you there.

Presumably anybody who doesn't make it will get Pearl for the next year (or Sapphire if they didn't even make 25000). I don't know how much discretion (if any) the poker host has to override for high-limit players under the new system.

10 runs most days. Especially thursday-monday. 40 runs Friday sat, Sunday. Unless special folks are in then it might jump to 80.

Thanks for the reply. The comps have been way down since MGM took over. At slots I used to get 100 for a 2 day stay, now it only comes out to 40-45 for the same play. Do you know if the rates have been reduced? This will make it impossible to reach the 1000 level for me anyway.

I don't know if it's reduced from pre-MGM days, but it seems awfully low compared to the generosity at poker (which, it's worth noting, is unique to Borgata among MGM properties).

When I googled around a bit in the fall, what I found suggested $200 bet at VP ($100 at plain slots, IIRC; premium slots may vary) would get 1 comp dollar, and you have to earn 5 to get any. Definitely geared to the people who'll sit and play slots for hour after hour, no value in that 10 minutes of VP on a break from poker. (And I did shortly afterward try to earn some TCs at video poker, and it didn't seem to earn even as well as what I've described—no comp dollars or points, but a handful of TCs.)

Anyone know if Asian buses still run from Brooklyn or Manhattan to Atlantic City? They usually go to Bally's or Caesar's. If you know the schedule, can you please pm me? Thanks in advance.

not even going to try.
borgata's tier point to coin-in ratio is horrible.
same with mgm national harbor in md.
best/easiest is Vegas.

i used my Caesars diamond card last year to get borgata black/mgm gold match.
plan to try to do the same thing this oct when Gold expires

You’re much better off with the port authority lucky streak or w/e it’s called

I joined the mob for the high hand special on Friday...as usual, didn't make a hand that could have qualified the whole day. Lots of straight flushes, tough to win with quads.

I started out the day at 4-8 way over by the restrooms and was surprised that the PA was barely audible there. Surprising when it's so deafening down the right-hand side of the room.

And late in the afternoon they opened a 2-5 table in the little room at the back. Never seen that before.

I prefer the Nj Transjt express bus. It’s a a bit more expensive and there’s no slot coupon but it’s exponentially more reliable and is always on time/rarely any delays or mechanical issues. Plus it’s usually way more empty/spacious and the class of rider is generally much higher with less likelihood of loud idiots/drunks. I’ve personallt been on 5 lucky streak highway break downs that delayed the trips hours and have lost count of how many scheduled times have been canceled or delayed due to company incompetence/laziness. yMMV

Haven’t taken china town but have heard they are also way more reliable than greyhound (and cheaper).

NJT >> Greyhound especially if you (like me) catch it after work on Friday evenings. Often an hour long wait for Greyhound.
Also if your bus stops at Bally's (most do) the coupon activates only after 30mins and expires the same day. Also you can't use it without a totalrewards card (i.e) just running it thru the machine after waiting 30mins will trigger a gaming day. Obviously if you are going to play poker at Bally's or Harrah's this is ok (but are you really playing there as opposed to the borgata if poker is your grind?)
