This is not the first time that's happened. I remember I was there maybe a year or so ago, and I saw a security guard and the remnants of a glass door all over the ground.

Thanks to those who replied to my questions re the Summer Open. Unfortunately had car trouble and didn't make it down. Can't do the upcoming dates, so it looks like I'll have to wait for the Fall Open - sigh.

That sucks. Last week a dealer misread two tabled hands and was pushing the pot to the losing player. No one else noticed and I had to speak up to tell the dealer of her mistake. The person who was being pushed the pot started yelling saying it wasn't my place to do that. There are some shady individuals at the tables...

I think it will start in the signature room, for day day 1a and b, probably day 2 but day 3 & 4 it will probably be in the poker room. It all depends on how long they have use of the signature room.

I think there is a give away and they will probably using the room.

So important to not let these crumbs intimate you or anyone else. Spread the word, it's on everyone to protect everyone at table.

Glad you spoke up.

I played at Borgata for three days last week, my first visit there in about two years. I stayed for two nights and played mostly 5/10 PLO along with a couple of tournaments.

While most of the dealers I encountered were friendly and professional, the folks working the floor -- from the podium to those walking around the room -- were all rude and unprofessional, by far the most unpleasant individuals I've encountered in a casino setting.

Perhaps I'm just used to Parx and Sugarhouse, where floor staff understand the importance of customer service. But I don't think that's it. The floor in the Borgata room were downright nasty. All of them.

For example: I walked to the back podium and asked the woman to add me to three lists. She took my initials and nodded. Fifteen minutes later, while perusing the lists, I noticed my name is nowhere to be found. I returned to the podium to inquire. The woman snapped, "WELL, I DID IT. YOU'RE NAME WAS LIKELY CALLED YOU AND MISSED IT!" ... Yeah, lady, on all three lists, where I was 10-15 names down, my name was called. And I missed it three times.

I kindly asked her to add my initials again. She breathed deeply as if I was annoying her and asked something awful. So I moved on to the guy who was seemingly a supervisor. I explained what happened and he glared at me meanly. "Just go ask her again," he said.

Later that evening, another floor sat someone else when I was next on the list. When I showed my ID to prove I had those initials, I was told, "Just wait. Another seat will open up."

The very next day, that same floor (I assume he was a dual rate), dealt to me at the mixed game I sat in for a few hours. He was friendly, upbeat and downright jovial. I guess the prospect of tips will do that.

Anyway, my question is: What the hell is wrong with these people? Are all Borgata floor instructed to treat customers poorly and to always display negative attitudes? Are they not permitted to smile?

Any feedback would be much appreciated.

I spend on average 4-5 sessions a month playing cash at Borgata. Some of the floors are "duel rate" and I think a bunch of them are "decent" dealers - but not qualified (or good at) the floor. Handling a busy floor - during the weekend - or during a series or when a popular promo is going on (high hand day) can be a hard job.

Not sure what Borgata's scheduling policy is - as I truly think almost all of the "full time" floor people are good - but there are several which are duel rate which don't belong flooring.

How hard is it to be a floor though? What are their difficult duties other than making rulings on table dilemmas and seating people. Like I don't mean to short change them, but it doesn't seem to be rocket science. I would think any semi organized person should be able to do it, so long as they have a firm understand of the rules.

Many struggle at managing the lists for the various games, must moves -> main game, dinner lists, etc. Main games will have empty seats open for 15+ minutes, folks will try to jump or avoid the list order (based on how good their current table is, etc), and oftentimes they will be go on break and not update whoever is covering, etc.

These aren't "difficult" but based on the way some struggle, they definitely aren't innate...

I think the individual responsibilities on their own seem simple. Take initials, seat a player, do a fill, see if players can get free time, etc. They do a lot of seemingly simple things. Now take those numbers of things and ask someone to do them all at the same time and then ask if it's simple. Imagine a floor doing a fill, while a player is asking him which seat he was just called for all while another person wants a seat while there is a list and a podium, the players at the fill table are are asking for free time, three tables down the table has two queen of spades and employees are waiting for the floor to finish what he is doing so they can start counting the bad beat chips. I have seen a situation pretty much like this before.

None of this excuses rude uncaring behavior. My experience with years at Borgata is mixed, some great floor and dealers, some egh floor and dealers, some terrible floor and dealers. But often I see situations where the job is stressful enough to not be easy and can sometimes on some level understand less than optimal response (but still not nastiness and some people are nasty)

I currently get no offers for rooms at Borgata, i heard if you play two sessions straight for 12 hours each day, you can start getting two nights a week. Is this true?

Thanks for the responses

playing just a couple of hours would get you two nights a week during the week. playing two 12 hour sessions at 1-2NL would make it so weekends would be included.

however, that may have all changed with new ownership and comp system.

You should start seeing room offers, but it's not immediate. It may be a week or a couple weeks, and you might not get Fri/Sat free right away. Offers on the website usually update Tuesday afternoons.

Bravo is showing "10/20 T.B. PLO9".

Is this a 27TD, Badugi, and PLO mix?

You will always be upgraded for pearl, as long as the credit card remains open, although you do not even need to use the credit card.
