Just an fyi and clarification:

1. Bravo Poker Live has The Commerce, Lake Elsinore, Pechanga, Morongo, Pala, San Manuel, Harrah's Rincon, and most Vegas casinos. And a host of Northern California casinos on their app. That's not including the casinos in the deep South and upper East Coast. The layout is very nice with that red and yellow color to the background and font.
2. The Commerce has their own app on the google play store that was launched about two or three months ago.
3. The Bicycle Casino, Hollywood Park, and The Normandie is on the PokerAtlas app.
4. Hawaiian Gardens has their own app. A pretty good layout as well.

1. Is correct
2. Is correct
3. The Bike, Hustler Casino, Lucky Lady are on Poker Atlas. Hollywood Park has nothing for live games.
4. Is correct.

Haven’t been in a while. Pretty busy on a Tuesday night and the 2/3 table was very juicy.

I'm coming to la for work and will have an afternoon to play some cards. Assuming I play 5-8 hours of 2/3 nl is there any value in getting a players card? Or is it just a waste?

Probably not going to be back in la more than once ever 1-2 years with my current job.

Fun fact! it’s illegal to comp alcohol in California.

So no

And I don’t think you need a players card to get free food, but someone who has played their more recently than me can pipe in.

I would always recommend just getting a card, but at the bike they take your picture and put it on the card and in their records, or at least they did when I got mine a couple of years ago. It's kind of weird and if you're only playing a few hours I would skip it

How is their "Summer Poker Series"? Does it draw many players, with the WSOP going on right now?

Do they run PLO here? Will they run it during this SPS tournament series?

Their summer series still gets pretty good turnouts even with the wsop going on. They always hit their guarantees.

I’m not playing any summer series events, even though I normally would. Total sticker shock at the juice on them. It’s getting ridiculous out there.

Modz not sure where to post this. Thinking about moving to LA. Could anyone reccomend a nice area to get an apartment, that's not insane expensive, and not too far off a drive from the bike?

There’s a Los Angeles poker thread which may be more appropriate.

That being said, you will have to give more information. How far is “not too far?” What is “not insane expensive” to you? How do you define nice area? The LA area has everything, and in multiple options.

45 mins or less. 2 grand monthly, don't have to worry about my place / car being broke into.

if you're basing a place to live on the Bike, I would favor places near the 710 freeway

see if you like the Bixby Knolls neighborhood in north Long Beach or Alhambra

I depleted my entire bankroll trying to survive for the last 6 months.
What took the casinos so long???
My life is ruined now unless Pokerstars makes me an official spokesperson

Get a job? Move? etc etc

You had lots of choices -- if your life is "ruined" then you made some poor choices.

You do realize that the circumstances didnt ruin your life, you did, right? Casinos shut down July 1, and I was devistated. July 2nd I told the GF I'd be in Vegas every week for the forseeable future.

There were better ways to play the shutdown, you seem to have taken a very shitty line and blamed the world for it. Poker requires personal responsibility and adaptability even in the best of times, and even moreso during the worst.

Yes, so I see that you chose poker over love.

I considered temporarily moving myself to vegas for about 15 seconds; did not think it was worth separating the family.

Also, I'm flattered that you created an account just to criticize me.

Actually, I went to vegas late Monday and returned early Friday, every week, 3x10hr days. I was home all of Friday-Monday around 6pm. I didn't make an account to criticize you, I did it because you need to hold yourself responsible, you blaming casinos rather than accepting your own responsibility is an incredibly huge leak, and as someone in a very similar situation who did the whatever it took fo fix his situation, I wanted you to stop blaming circumstance and instead start resolving your problems. Whether appreciated for it or not, I don't care.

I look out for people in tough spots who need to get their **** together, I was recently in the same spot. Please, stop blaming circumstance and figure out your optimal path forward. Whether it takes months or years, start down the proper path, and the stsrt of that journey requires personal responsibility. If you still don't get it, I can rest easy knowing I tried to help.
