Thanks, I assumed bigger games ran at bike because of LATB.

LATB has been running a semi regular 25/50 game (I think every Friday if I'm not mistaken), so if you are willing to play on the stream you can find a bigger game. Check the schedule on their site for exact dates/times that runs.

Bike will give you a decent rate if you ask. You also earn $3/hr on your player's card which you can use for food and hotel amenities. I'd recommend staying there because their hotel is a lot nicer than Commerce's. You will get a discounted rate when you get here. As for higher stakes, 5/10+ will be running usually during/after the bigger shows a few nights a week. It also pops up on weekends sometimes. I wouldn't say eco74 is right, either. The 5/10 at Bike is rarely just 5/10. Often straddles a ton and is uncapped.

There are hosts for different higher limit games who help handle percs and comps - I've seen it often enough at 20/40 LH and above.

If you're not interested in calling the Bike and asking for the top section floorman, I'd contact the Live at the Bike twitter account. I'm sure you'll be sent in the right direction for a contact.

If you do call the bike, try to find a night that top section/VIP floorman Brian W. is working- swing shift. Best guy ever.

Anyone know if the bike is good with offering poker rates for their rooms? I'd like to stay for a week or two and will be playing higher stakes (mostly 10/20 and up) so I will accumulate comps while there but would like to try to get a good deal beforehand so I know where to stay.

Maybe this is different now from last time I was there, but I was there less than a year ago.

There is a sort of high roller section for poker at the Bike that is 1-2 tables. The game is mostly dead during the week. It's not 10/20 NLHE, but the general rule is that the game will go as high as the players want. Last time I played there it was around 5-10NLHE and there were only 2 other players there. This was like Tuesday at 3PM. Someone had what looked like his last $300 in front of him, I had brought in $800 I think, and some bald guy had like over $2,000. Game lasted about 2-3 hours?

I went back over the weekend and both tables were full. You're not going to play 10-20NLHE there, go to Commerce or Hustler. The Bike is overrated IMO. Maybe if it were a lil closer to the other LA casinos I'd go more often. I'm not going to go out of my way to go to a dirty poker room.

The new Lucky Lady Casino is really really really nice. All of the tables and seats still feel fresh and clean, unlike Commerce which is long overdue for a major overhaul with carpet and felts that are ripping apart. But I think when I was there there was like exactly 1 poker table running, I think it was $100NLHE.

Eh

Yeah already having a bad experience with this casino and have decided to play elsewhere.

Tried reserving my spot on LATB for a few days in late November. They responded that I’m booked for 2/3 days (ignoring the 3rd day which is the 25/50/100). I have no interest in flying out there to only play 5/10 so I emailed back asking for clarity. No reply. Followed up and still no reply.

I’m sure they have plenty of interest for those games but the fact that they couldn’t answer me straight after 3 tries is sort of frustrating and they just lost out on a guy who would’ve been walking around their casino with a bunch of $$ for a week.

Thanks everyone for the replies

A big shock I had when I was in LA for the first time is just how dingy and worn down the bike and commerce were... A real difference coming from Vegas casinos.

The Commerce has its charm as it is just so big im not sure why people would prefer the Bike with them being so close and in rough areas.

Bike has been renovated top to bottom, not sure when you were there. Pretty much unrecognizable.

LOL though at either of them being "rough areas." LA has rough areas. Those aren't them.

What makes it harder than at other casinos?

Any worthwhile games with a $200 to $400 max buy-in?

Yeah, the $100-$300 buy-in 2/3 is pretty good. It's the deepest you can buy in for 2/3 in L.A.

Hey guys, I'm moving back down from norcal. Is long beach/downey the best area to look at. I don't plan on playing at the bike much maybe 1-2 times a month. Any recommendations on where to live somewhere around 800-900$?

Downey has some nice areas, but $800-900 is gonna be hard to find.

Does anyone know if they still run 5/10 NLHE at $3k cap or is it uncapped?

It used to be uncapped and then a few months ago I went to play and it was capped at $3k. Now, I hardly see 5/10 running on poker atlas.

Any insights on current status of that game?

You can see waitlists and active tables as well as register for a list on the PokerAtlas app. Much smoother than Bravo.

Traveling to LA for the first time, staying near the Bike & Commerce. Will be in town for a week. From the east coast and used to playing 2/2 PLO with a $5 bring in, $200-$700 buyin, where I buy in for $700.

5/5 PLO plays usually 5/5/10 here with $500-$2000 buyins. This game is too big for me.

I see on bicycle site they spread a 2/3 PLO and a 2/5 PLO. Can someone share with me the average stacks for these games? Is there a lot of straddles? A lot of min buys or a lot of max buyins? How often do these games run?

Do you know of a casino with a PLO game with a $500-$1000 max buyin in the LA area that runs regularly? Thank you for your help!
