Went to LA for a few days holiday and played at the Bike. Played at the lowest stake and got angleshot by the regs.

Preflop I raised EP with AQ, 2 regs called ip.
Flop was Axx.
I had 4-5 hundred infront of me, so I had a lot of chips. I was mentally calculating the amount I was going to bet. While I was thinking, my hand slowly moved to my stack ready to cut a bet. As soon as I touched my stack, one reg said "check" and the next reg said "check" immediately after. And then the dealer said "check check" and was about to deal the turn.
I protested. A few of the other players also protested on my behalf. Floor comes and ask the two regs what happened, ask the dealer what happened, lecture me on how to becareful with my action and let the flop checked through.

Bike, re-train your dealers.

ps, I still enjoyed my stay at the hotel.

Welcome to LA lol, i used to be upset about all the angleshots and dealer abuse, well played (or run good) tho if you really were on the lowest stake with $40-60 Buy-In?

Ran good on the 1-2 $60 max buy-in .

2nd day I went there the floor asked me if I wanted to play the $40 game. I said no, I wanted to play the $60 game.
Little confusing for a tourist like me.

Sorry if you have commented on this before but as someone who plays in LA often, what is your main game? What makes your choose the bike over Commerce or Hollywood Park?

I keep seeing statements like this "welcome to LA" or "standard in games here". So basically LA games are full of angle shooters and bad dealers?

The dealer abuse is not because of bad dealers...

Don't forget short stackers and high rakes

I'm thinking of coming to LA to play 2/5 NLHE at the Bike or Commerce. What are the buy-in rules for these games at these two rooms? On "Live at the Bike" everything I can remember is uncapped but I've heard some people say that some buy-ins at some games are capped. I prefer to buy-in for nothing less than 100bb's.

Also, what's the rake structure in LA? I've heard they don't do it by pot or pot size. I'd like to know more about that as well.

I appreciate the information!

Don't have a 2/5 game. 5/5 500max is the lowest you can do.

5/5 500 max sounds perfect. I called the Commerce and they said they have the same game.

What about the rake? How does that work and how much is it?

It's $1000 max at the Bike and Hustler, $500 max at Commerce or Hollywood Park.

What about rake? I'm hearing conflicting reports. I've heard some say rake is collected every 30 minutes or hour. I've heard someone say on the 5/5 that they rake $7 per hand regardless of pot size which seems brutal.

So exactly when and how is rake collected for 5/5 LA games?

In commerce, the 5/5 game is 300 min 500 max. Must chip down after seat change. Rake=2 without flop, add 5 if there is a flop I believe?

Must chip down after seat change? What's that mean?

The games must be really juicy in LA if people can handle that rake. Most of the games I play are 10% of pot up to $5 Max. Taking a rake with no flop is insulting IMO. $7 per hand of rake is about a full buy in raked in just two hours.

It means if you table-change you have to buy in at your new table with no more than the table max. You can't bring your whole stack. Standard rule in LA.

And yes the rake is high yada yada it's all been said and complained about before.

is there nothing like bravopokerlive being offered for the bike? presume that commerce is where all the big action is this month but would at least be nice to see online what games are being spread @ bike

I've played 24+ hours of 5/5 NLH in each of the 3 casinos in LA in the last two weeks. (Commerce, Bike, Hollywood Park)
Here's my tldr in case anybody is interested.

Commerce: Loud, dirty, gambling Asians, high rake, short buy in (300-500).
Hollywood Park: New facilities, good action, lower rake, low comp, short buy in.
Bike: Regs are much better compare to the others, tight tables, good comp, deeper buy in (300-1k, easily someone with 2k+ on the table), new facilities.

Recent visit report: 6, 7, 8, 9 March 2017

First impressions - very well lit casino overall, bright colors, clean tables, floors, walls. I understand they just completed a major renovation, but its my first visit so I can't compare to what it used to be. The tables I sat at all had USB charging ports at each seating position which is very utilitarian, thumbs up for a nice 'extra'.

Played in their "Live at the Bike" web cast show on Monday, a 5-5 PLO. Continued on main floor after broadcast. If you aren't familiar, this is a unique tool for evaluating one's play.

Tuesday played in the WSOP circuit event. This was off in the conference center. Not part of the main playing floor, but was still well managed and run tournament area.

Later that evening, found my new love, a $12-24 EO Mixed game. The mix included Big O/8, Stud8, and Badugi. I had a lot of fun with this game and returned to play again the next night after visiting Commerce and a third night after visiting Hawaiian Gardens. Will play again, would recommend to others.

I do not pay much attention to poker room comps my first visit to a property because I might not be back / probably won't rack up enough to get anything. However, I was able to at least pay for a dinner on night three with whatever I had racked up, so that was a pleasant surprise. Second visit I will pay closer attention.

How is the bike going to advertise on their website a 25k guarantee tournament only to bait and switch upon arrival? At the register they crossed out the guarantee. This should have been posted in the website or poker atlas.

Raided by the feds. Money laundering. Sounds like it was going on in the table games.
