There's a group of guys who are regulars at the Bike (real degens) and when they play in tournaments the collusion is really rampant. It's not that they bet others out of hands; I'm not sure that they are smart enough to figure out how to do that successfully. It's that they are constantly flashing their cards or telling the other to fold when there's a big bet or an all in by one of them. The dealers don't say anything, probably because they don't want to cause trouble because they argue with the dealers constantly.

The real problems happen when 2 or more of these guys make it deep. Then it's like you're playing against all of them instead of one at a time. They all have pieces of each other.

The Bike tournament staff know what's going on but they don't take any action. People I know have come to play there and then told me later that they had such a bad experience because of these guys that they won't come back. Additionally, these guy are railbirds when they're not in play so they are always hanging around trying to get money to play. It's pathetic.

I'm calling on the Bike staff starting with Mo to get rid of these guys. Use your powers as a private business to tell them they aren't welcome anymore. They're just bringing down your casino.

What is the main difference between Commerce and Bicycle?

I heard that Commerce only allows you to buy in short ($60 at 1/2 and $200 at 2/5) is this true? Why does anyone ever play here if that is the case?

Bicycle has regular buy ins correct?

Which casino has the better 5/10 NL game and why?

The Commerce thread is thataway. And if you ask that question about the buyins, prepare to get flamed.

I like their tournaments due to the fact that tournaments under $1k bi are relatively soft. I like the way their tournament chips look. I like Mo and Greg who run the tournaments really well. I don't like the fact that they use just-out-of-school dealers to deal the tournaments. Some dealers don't have a clue. The food sucks at The bike compares to Commerce or HG. They don't have much game selection because the cash games dont have many tables open compared to Commerce and/or HG. I like their cash game buyin structure. I also like the fact that yellow chips eat for free.

Agree with just about everything above, except about the food. It's definitely better at the Bike than Commerce.

Noooooooooooooooooooooo not even close. Just compare the "asian" food of both casinos. I must admit though, HG has the best food. I used to just stop by and eat there..although most of the time, i ended up + or - a few hundos

The first tournament I ever played in was a $15 buy in Stud/8 with $10 rebuys at Bike. I won. First was about $840. On the way to the cage, I got hit up at least 3 times for a $5 "lucky" chip. By guys I'd never seen before in my life.

That was in 1995.

I'm guessing some of those "degens" you speak of were the ones hitting me up for a chip 16 years ago.

FWIW, theres a couple guys that back several degens at a time in this low buy in tournaments, particularly if they are $100 or smaller buy in. I have no idea why cause theres no way in hell the degens are +ev, even with the collusive play. I used to play the dailys for years and almost all the players are really horrible and can't even stay in the low buy in stuff on their own dime.

The Bike used to run a daily with 800 starting chips and the blind is 5/5 or 5/10 i forgot. I thought that was the dumbest thing ever lol. Now they run a decent daily tournaments which usually get around 100 runners. I guess their daily tournaments are the best compared to HG, Commerce, HPC, Hustler.

Don't be so quick to judge, that kind of structure was pretty standard in LA (and likely elsewhere) until a few years ago. Besides, 80BB starting stack is exactly the same as where they start now.

The action is comparatively tight compared to Commerce (very tough to beat the Asian degenerates' love for "gamble"), but you have to table select very carefully if you want to make money at The Bike.

The $2/$3 game has a $100-$300 buy-in, and is probably one of the best small stakes cash games in LA. I play at The Bike because the buy-in allows you to sit w/ 100bbs so you can actually play poker, compared to Commerce where the cap buy-in on the $2/$3 game is $100.

I haven't had the chance to play the $3/$5 game just yet, but I've heard the game has a good structure with (I believe) $300-$500 buy-in. This game is definitely much tougher, as expected, than the $2/$3 game.

As a side note, all food is FREE at The Bike. Most players tip $2-$3 per plate, but the food is high quality compared to the other LA casinos. The staff is also relatively nice, and more eager to help out than the staff at other LA casinos, namely Commerce.

For those looking to play NLHE in LA, The Bike is the place to play. I do not have a player's card, but I've heard it is a must have if you play there a lot. Good luck to all LA poker players.

Clarification about the "free" food:

For blue chip games, the food is not free. If you get 3 scans on your Rewards Card, you can get a free meal off the Rewards menu - which is much more limited than the regular menu.

For green chip games and higher, the food from the regular menu is free.

The 5/5 $300-500 buyin is basically the same structure as the 2/3 game, and I wouldn't say it's necessarily tougher. It can be, and sometimes it isn't. I've put in a ton of hours at the Bike and at one point it was the only place I played (that was mostly 5/10 though), but there are just too many nitty games these days. I'd rather play the dumb structures at Commerce or go to Hustler, which has the same structure as the Bike.

I agree though that the room is nicer than the others and the staff is particularly great there, and they treat players better than elsewhere. It's too bad it has become so difficult to get a good game.

Two ugly guys that could buy and sell every one of us.

At any rate, not every tourney uses those chips. In fact I didn't see them at all during WSOPC.

This is probably a Bike employee! The nicest building(small) had to be the Hustler. As far as action Commerce and Garden.

Maybe so, but I prefer the 2/3 game at the Bike. You can buy in for 100BBs ($300) and actually play poker.
