The rake for the 2/3 NLH games were 4+1 but now are 5+1. The rake for the lower games remain 4+1, basically the 1/2 & 1/3 NLH and probably the lower limit games not in the plaza.

In my opinion a rake of $6 can probably be justified for bigger games such as 5/10 NLH or 20/40 LH but not 2/3 NLH which is what I primarily play/played.

Do you know if this is an increase for the 20/40 or has it been that for awhile?
I thought it was already $6, but I could be remembering wrong. Do they still have 8/16, and if so, what is the rake there?

I played the 100-300 yesterday for the first time (on vacation in LA). I wanted to cry every time I saw someone limp, both blinds call, someone bet the flop, and net $0.00 for winning the hand.

The casino might as well post a sign at the table stating WARNING: THIS RAKE IS UNBEATABLE.

It likely was always $6 in the 20/40 but he's talking about the $100-$300NL.

At least he gets his bet back. There are places here in Socal where at a 1/2 game, if one person limps, the SB folds and the BB checks the pot is a big zilch! Everybody loses!

That's why nobody should really open limp at LLSNL. Complaining about the rake is pretty pointless. California games below 2/5 NL are not beatable for a decent wage and anyone who thinks otherwise is on a heater.

What time do the 5/5 games usually start on Saturday morning? Or do they run 24/7 on the weekends?

So, if someone has say a $4k starting BR, and has some experience playing online and live, should they jump into the 2/5NL ($500BI?) game right away? Assuming they can beat the game at all, is it okay to jump into a game with only 8BIs for BRM?

I'm thinking about playing in the $20/$40 OE game at the Bicycle Casino for the first time. Is this game loose or tight? What is the rake structure? Is there a full kill or half kill? For the E portion, what is the ante and bring-in? Thank you in advance.

Game depends on who's in it.

Its a $5 drop per hand.

There's actually no kill at all, just a mandatory action bet of $20 if you scoop +$200 pot.

E has a 3 ante and 5 bring in.

Expect some big names to show up once in awhile.

I'll be in SoCal next week. Looking for 3-5 $500BI NLHE. Would the Bicycle have multiple tables going at almost all hours or should I stick with Commerce?

Bike will have at least a couple 5-5 300-1k games. Commerce will have 3+ 5/5 300-500 games.

How strong and stable is this game? Does it go around the clock, are there must move games? Any insight or information about the 20-40 OE would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

Just to clarify, I have an email from a Samuel Quinto at Commerce saying the blinds for their 300-500 game are 3/5. Is this incorrect?

Incorrect.

The blinds for the $300-$500 buyin game are 5/5, while the blinds for the $200 min/max are 3/5. When in doubt, ask anyone who isn't employed at the place because so many of them have no idea what they're talking about.

Wow. Thanks for the tip. That's amazing.

I'm not used to a 5-5 game, but I'm sure not playing a 3-5 game with a $200 cap! Sounds like a formula for a shove fest.

Guess I'll give the Bike a try and see how it goes. I was a regular there in the early nineties. Coming back could be fun.

5/5 and 3/5 play exactly the same. Only thing that makes them play differently is the buyin.

Bike is 5/5 also, with the $300-$1000 buyin.
