I don't know if it is because of the tournaments but the $300-1000 game has been juicy lately. Even some of the bad regs are going home with more money then they came with.

I will be there friday night, maybe not 300-1000 though.

I can definitely confirm this. Money flies around like it no longer has value. This is surely a profitable game if you are rolled for the $1K buy-in.

You should really just get a blog rather than posting your daily thoughts in 1 of the various LA poker room threads.

I was at the Bike last week and noticed that the plaza section had an interest board for a PLO game, 1-2, w/ a $5 bring in. I've seen them spread 5-5 PLO before, but does this 1-2 game ever get going? Is there a particular day of the week it runs?

It ran on a random weekday last week when the 5/5nl game broke way early. When this game (very occasionally) runs, it'll be really soft, but you can't really go there any given night expecting to play 1/2 plo.

What are the current LLNL structures?

I usually play a 1/2 $200 max or 1/3 $300 max at the casinos I frequent. I have been to Commerce before, but 3/5 $200 is such an odd structure. Never been to Bike. Would I be better off at the Bike 1/3 $300 or the Commerce 3/5 $200?

Thanks in advance.

Bike and Commerce both have 5/5 with $300-$500 (at Commerce) and $300-$1000 (Bike) buyin.

Try out The Bike especially if you have not been there before. The 2/3 NLH game is located in the VIP plaza right next to valet entrance. A nice perk is free food in that section. It is only about 10 minutes from Commerce so you can always leave if you don't like it.

Well, the Bike 1/3 is $80-$120 buy in. Bike 2/3 is $100-$300. I'm not a big fan of Commerce because of the weird buy in structures, but very few low stakes players at Commerce know how to play post flop (obviously - nothing left after the flop to get in). The 1/3 game at the Bike is lots of action, but shallower stacks. The 2/3 game tends to be tighter, but that's because there are usually deeper stacks.

RIZ- +1 on both these quotes from Serio and jones. When Im on LA, often I have out of town players with me, and its always the Bike after I've taken them to both Commerce and Bike. better comfort, treatment, layout, room quality, especially in the mentioned Plaza 2/3 NL and above area.

I'm going to be coming there for the circuit event. Can anybody give me a few mid range hotel suggestions that are close to Bike and safe. Thanks

For location, you won't beat the Comfort Inn, across the street. $80.00 nightly average, 7330 Eastern Ave. Down the street is a Motel 6, 6344 Eastern Ave., @ $70/night.
For nicer, try a tripadvisor search for - Downey, Whittier, Santa Fe Springs, Norwalk. All these towns are > 15 minute drive.

Any recommendations for where to stay? I'm planning on playing at this Bike as well for the Circuit event.

And I agree the reviews online sound scarry regarding the Comfort Inn.

Stayed at the comfort inn last weekend for 1 night. Definitely a small drive up hotel but not scary. I stay at a hotel typically 4 nights a week (for work) and I would never stay here while on a job.

But for convenience and the fact that I was able to walk across the street and be inside in less than 2 minutes was incredible. I've been in casino where it took longer even if I was still inside the same casino. The bed was comfortable and I thought my room was clean. One girl at front desk complained about being on first floor and front desk immediately changed for her. I didn't care and dropped my bag in the room and stayed at the casino.

On the Saturday night in question (Pacquiao fight), I was unimpressed with only 2 300-1000 tables running. Action was great though and buying in for 200bb made the game play much different than most. Saw several shoves for over pot because they didn't know what to do.

Food was decent and the fact that it was free was impressive. Had several dishes and thought all were edible.

I was there Tuesday night and it appeared pretty normal for middle of the week - I think there were 2 5/5 games and one 5/10 game running.
