My mistake. I have played at some other venues where the min was $100 and max was $500 or even $600. Most other venues have $200 min buy-in if the max is $500-$600. Even $200 is low IMO if almost everyone else buys in at $500. But a lot of players who buy-in at $100-$200 will rebuy quickly if they run out, much more so than people who buy-in at the max. Maybe it suits their style of play better to buy-in low and do lots of rebuys.

Yeah, you're spot-on with this. Almost all of the players who buy in for the minimum have the next $100 bill out of their pocket before they bust. It's just what they've been used to in Florida for so long.

Me and a few of my friends will almost certainly be there. We drive down from SC about 4 or 5 times a year. Always a fun time.

A little birdy told me that they have decided to add a 5/5NL game with a 300-1K buy in to address the issue

Thanks for the info everyone. I understand how Florida used to be I am just surprised that they still haven't changed it. It has been almost 4 years. There is no reason to keep the $100 bi anywhere. How long does it have to take to get a regular buy in structure?

Having another game is interesting. I don't know if it really solves the problem. Based on what happens in other rooms, the rec players tend to avoid these "specialty" games. and the 2/5 will just have even fewer chips in play.

It would be nice to see them make creating good poker games a priority over letting a few people that don't know better ruin game-play by buying in for $100, 5 times in a row. Its not like these people will stop playing. They will either play 2/2 or buy in for $200.

Its clear to me that BestBet's #1 priority is keeping the max number of tables running at all times instead of offering quality games which I think is a potential leak in their business plan. Does it maximize profits in the short term? sure, but it makes anyone that pays attention want better alternatives.

I would absolutely love to play that 5/5 structure. I hope they have it running when I go in January.

Yes. a real big difference as a matter of fact. Minimum table value goes from 900 to 1800 instantly in 9-handed. Complete change of logistics for bet sizing, money behind, expectation value.
