Are there any plans for Bestbet to get on bravo system if for anything so that one can check the status of games from the app?

Anyone play here during the weekdays when there's no events or anything special going on? If I was there, for example, on a Tuesday and Wednesday and just wanted to play for like 12-16 hours, is 2/5 going to be going? Thanks.

When I was there last Monday, there were multiple 2/5 games running.

Thanks. As far as the players, mostly the old nits or a decent mix?

This place isn't opening 24 hours on the weekdays? Wtf?

Regardless I think I might head down Monday. How are the games during the week?

The traffic on here slows down when BestBet doesn't have a Spring, Summer, or Fall Event going on. Those are the best times to go.

Anyone know when the next big tournament is going to be held?

Place has been packed. Everyday through the 23rd they're running $500 high hands every 30 minutes. Buddy of mine hit two high hands last night and walked out with more than $1400 after sitting down with just $80. So sick...

So I finally got down to Jacksonville and ended up playing 2-2. Most of the people at my table bought in short. Is this the norm at 2-2? The game was ok and I ended up making almost a whole buy in. woohoo. But if any of you regs want to grab a beer and/or point me in the direction of the fish that would be pretty sweet imo.

People who would be playing deep wouldn't be playing 2/2.

standard, ask for a table change if you cant find the fish, there's one at every table.

Played today. Got there at 1130 and played until 530. Over my roughly 20 hours of play I would have to rate it at 6.5. I stuck to only 2-2. I was not a fan of a min buy in of 40 bucks. Lots of people sitting with awkward stacks.

I did win an 8 pound ham though so that was ****ing cool.

18 hours of straight play? Impressive. The stack you built combined with the $40 buy-ins really make for a unique table dynamic. I'm coming down either Wed or Thurs (likely Thurs) and debating between 2-2 and 2-5.

Pros to 2-2: Playing against the worst of the worst. Reduced variance.
Cons to 2-2: Playing against $40 stacks and a lot of all-ins with wide range. Increased variance.

I think i'm leaning toward 2-5 if i am able to locate fish at these tables which from this thread i should still be able to do.

If you have any game at all, play the 2/5. You'll be fine. LOTS of retired nits who will ship pots to you repeatedly, and are considerate enough to check raise you all in when they have the nuts. What a friendly bunch!

lol no I didn't play for 18 straight hours. I was considering 2-5, but I'm a nit with my BR. Maybe next time.

I was at BestBet with 2 of my friends this past weekend (Friday night, Saturday afternoon and night). Played 2/5 about 12 hours total, had one of the softest tables I've ever seen on Saturday afternoon, then really crap action for pretty much that whole night. I hopped around with table changes too so I don't know what the deal was.

That's unlucky. I was playing last night at 2/5, which I rarely dip into, and there was no shortage of good action. I remember one pot in particular with 5 people calling $80 pre(juicy!), mostly deep stacks. Two players at my table also hit the 1/2 hour high hand($500) so that helped, too. Chips were flowing and I ended up with a healthy profit.

Heh, it's all good because that's what my Saturday afternoon table was like. I really liked the room with the exception of one floor that was really rude to us when we wanted him to let one guy who played with us for 5+ hours to move back to our table. If you have rules that can't be bent that's fine just explain what they are and why you use them without being condescending or douchy to us.

But I'll for sure be back when they have a tournament series

Can someone explain why this room still has a $100 min bi at 2/5? WTF are they thinking? The $500 max is pretty standard and as much as I would like that to be a little more it makes sense. Why are they letting people sit down with 20bb?

For the majority of poker in FL's existence the max buyin at all games was 100 (yes, even 2/5 and 5/10). I agree with you 100%, but for so many people in FL, taking 100 bucks and sitting down at a table is "I'm playing poker" for them. I don't think they lose that many people if they raise it, and eventually will, but it's annoying in the interim I agree.

I played for a few hours at BestBet about 5 weeks ago while driving through Jacksonville. I don't recall the exact buy-in for 2/5, but it was something like $500, not $100. Up until about 4-5 years ago, all Florida poker was $100 max buy-in by state law, but that is no longer the case.
