What is the best hotel to stay at. Coming from Tallahassee

Hampton Inn just down the street from Best Bet has Poker Room Rate and we have stayed there afew times over the years. Rooms were just remodeled when we were there in Sep 2019 when we made poker road trip from Miami back to Houston over about 3 weeks.

I just moved to the area. Has anyone played lately in Jax? How are the games running? I don't see an entry for Jax in Bravo poker app. Is Jax BestBet listed on another app? Thanks.

Bestbet is an independent card room no listing anywhere. They’ve been back open since June. At 8 handed with mandatory masks. Games are always good, lots of 2-2 and 2-5 NL Locations on Monument Rd. and Orange Park. http://www.bestbetjax.com/

Anyone able to tell me the current rake/promo drop structure? Folks are discussing it's impact in a strat thread and they don't even know what it actually is, just that the max is $7. I assume that's still 10% to $5, taken out incrementally, and a $2 promo drop. Correct?

I was reading their website and says they were the 3rd largest poker room in the country. Are they still? How many games are typically running on a Friday night?

how is this poker room doing in covid times? players per table? rake? PLO? etc

I played at BB for the first time back in October and then again in November. This is my new favorite card room outside of Vegas. It's within a reasonable drive time for me which is huge!

No Plexi-Dividers at the tables!!! Masks req'd obviously, but the games were 8-top and maybe 9? ...I wasn't playing any Holdem but all the tables looked full ring not running short handed. First trip I played BigO for 9hrs or so, until the table broke around 2:30am. Second trip I played the livestream $15/$30 1/2 Kill O8 and then when that table broke we played a $10/$20 BigO and Stud8 mix until that finally broke at something like 3am. Another busy Saturday I played $5/$5 PLO and $1/$2 PLO8 and $2/$5 BigO. Sooooo much fun at this place... was in heaven!

Anyone know if there is a way to see what games are running. They don't use Bravo.

Hi all you Jacksonville people. I will be down visiting at the end of April for a long weekend. Was just curious is anyone can tell me how often Omaha games go (PLO, HL, 5 card), and how they are if you play them. Thanks!

2. Whats the max buy in at 5-5plo? It says min 300 on poker atlas and doesnt mention a max

Are there any legal games in south carolina or north carolina , georgia or virginia on the 95 coridor? Seems like once i get south of DC theres no room til Jax

there are legal cardrooms in atlanta GA, google search them online. its legal just like it is in texas, membership fee, no rake is why.

I will check them out. Im debating taking a western route and maybe hit uo cherokee nc and atlanta but it seems so close on a map but in reality its like a 5 hour detour.

There are hotels nearby. I believe there is a Hampton Inn that offers a special bestbet rate.

The 5/5 PLO is uncapped.

Room is great and always busy. Masks no longer required.

Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn Express still do a Best Bet Poker Rate around $85/night.

Rake is $5 + $2, but bad beat capped at $30,000 now.

2/5 NL is great ($200 - $800), not a ton of fish.

5/5 PLO high only is wide open($300 - no max)

Sushi is incredible. When WPT and other big tournaments come into town, there will be 70+ tables going.

Jaguars Stadium is 15 minutes away.

Anyone know what time the 5-5plo game usually starts?

Found the 2/5 games here to be pretty darn good even during the week and with a smaller cap ($800). Which Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn do the poker rate (if that's still available?). Are you required to play x number of hours to get said rate?

New room in St. Angie to open late summer. Rumor that a group of players is pitching that some higher big bet limit games run certain days like Tuesday Thursday Saturday. 10-20, 20-40 limit half kill Holdem’ and Omaha HiLo. This would be interesting to have offerings other then the same NL and PLO games. Mixed games HOSE or HOE in FL would be a first. Wonder if there would be enough interest.

There's a shitload of money in St Augustine (St Johns has quietly become the wealthiest county in Florida over the past decade) and that trendline is only going upward.
Also, the tourism base there has really changed over the past 30 years, its a lot higher income now.

It might take a bit of time to get rolling, but St Augustine is as good a place as any in Florida to run higher stakes games, vastly more attractive to whales than having to be in Jacksonville or Orange Park. Only downside is that there aren't a lot of high quality dealers in the area, but I'm sure they could manage a few.
